I completed a study for Applause in November. Despite providing evidence, receiving email confirmation that I completed the study, and consistent email communication, they have not paid the promised compensation of $50.Business Response

Thank you. As the General Counsel of Applause, I checked into this matter immediately. We learned that
The complainant apparently completed after we ended the collection. They had not finished by Nov. 19 (the date we indicated the cycle was ending), which is why they were not paid (they didn't complete in time). However, I'm fine with having UI go ahead and pay them if it will resolve this complaint. We successfully paid them.Customer Answer

I was scheduled to participate in a study by this company at their *** office. I arrived at the scheduled time and was told the study was cancelled. I received zero notification of this. I emailed asking about compensation for their mistake. Was told to setup an account on uTest to receive payment. I tried setting up an account multiple times but the UTest site was not working. Was not offered an alternative option.Business Response

This business allow people to do test and get payment. They overbooked when I was about to do a test. And they said I can contact someone from the team and getting compensate for my time. They give me an email address so I can write to. The email address is a fake one I can't get through. And I was writing the email at the location for like 5 mins and was just trying to get some cold air. Apprentlty this is against the "rules" so I was thrown out. So i try to write to the person who book me for the test which is also not help. I would like to get the compensation like they promised at the front desk and an apology from the company.Business Response

Dear. Sir/Madam:
My name is *************************** and Im the General Counsel of Applause App Quality, Inc. (Applause).
Applause is a quality assurance digital testing company where freelance testers can, at their election and subject to our code of conduct and terms of use, perform certain tasks to test our enterprise customers pre-production proprietary software and technology. If a tester signs up through our wholly owned subsidiary, uTest.com, to perform a task, and completes it in accordance with the test cycle instructions, Applause will pay the tester for completing the task. Some projects rely on our customers discretion to approve the task and to determine if additional testing is warranted.
Please be advised that Applause was first made aware of the above-referenced Complaint on March 21, 2023. It appears BBB addressed the correspondence regarding this Complaint to ************************* the companys founder and former CEO. Please be advised that he no longer works for the company, and therefore, in the future please direct your correspondence to Applause Legal at Applause App Quality, Inc., *************************************************************************************** to be assured a timely response.
Upon receipt this morning of the referenced Complaint, we immediately looked into this and determined that *************** (*****) had created a uTest account in October, 2022 as one of our freelance testers. Please note: the spelling we have is *************** so if you can provide confirmation of the accurate name, email address and any other information that would be very helpful.
On October 11, 2022, ***** signed up to perform an onsite test at our *** facility whereupon she was paid and then again on January 12, 2023, she signed up to perform a different project at our *** facility on pre-production technology, subject to our customers direction on test cycle instructions. ***** completed the testing and payment was timely made in full on January 30, 2023. From the complaint, however it appears ***** claims that on a different occasion, she sought a testing opportunity and believes she was turned away due to overbooking. She claims she tried to email our company at **************************************** though we have no record after reviewing the logs.
In the event ***** had tried to communicate with us via the uTest platform or other means, we would also have a record of that, but after a search, we were unable to find any communications relative to her complaint of overbooking. Typically, if we occasionally overbook a testing slot, our company will pay a reasonable turn away fee of approximately $25-$50. If the facts support that this occurred with *****, we would certainly provide such payment with our regrets for any inconvenience.
Please advise any questions and confirm resolution of this matter. Should you need to reach me. my contact information is: ******************************** or ************. Thank you.
Kind Regards,
***************************Business Response

We were able to search our systems with the consumer's proper email address and discovered that the consumer, named ***************** having the email address of ***************** did in fact test for Applause in June and was paid for that project but later came to our NY location for another project and was unfortunately turned away for apparently being late. We would like to resolve this situation and pay the turn away fee of $40 directly to ***************** with our apologies for any inconvenience this causes.
We regret that the information below was not tied to "*****************" but rather to "***************" and we will email our offer to resolve this matter to ***************** directly.
Please advise any questions. Thanks again.
Kind Regards, *******
