I recently had to file a complaint about my accommodations from disability services not being honored in one of my classes at *************. I filed a complaint with Office of Equal Opportunity and they claimed I was responsible for my accommodation not being honored. Now, I have a record that shows I have been trying sense two weeks before the start of the semester to try and get these accommodations in place. They have most of the emails I have access to too. During the complaint process they did not contact me for my input and I didn't even know they closed the complaint until I called the office and a very rude director yelled at me silencing my voice told me I was to blame. I had to submit complaints at **************************************************************************** and *********************************************************** I am not only a individual with a disability, but i'm a lifelong advocate for people with disabilities. I have been around the block sort of speak when it has come to needing government awareness regarding treatment of individuals with disabilities. I will say that when I came into ***** as a student I would of never guessed I would be treated this way here, but I suppose I should of at least expected it was possible.Massachusetts is usually considered one of the better states at honoring the rights of individuals with disabilities. We aren't typically criminalized here just based on the fact we identify as being disabled (typically). That is a part of the reason why I am so shocked by my experiences so far.
