  Sedgwick County DA vs Bradley Wiesen
  

  The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.

  On December 13, 2023, Bradley Wiesen entered into a consent judgment with the Office of the Sedgwick County District Attorney. The judgment settles allegations that Wiesen did not provide a full refund when he failed to replace a roof as contracted. The Consumer Protection Division alleged Wiesen was not properly licensed at the time of the transaction and was in violation of the Kansas Consumer Protection Act. Under terms of the judgment, Wiesen agreed to resolve the matter and provide the consumer with a full refund of $8,542.97. While on a 12-month probationary period with the Consumer Protection Division, Wiesen will be liable for $10,000.00 in civil penalties, as well as investigative expenses and court costs. As part of the agreement, Wiesen promised not to perform or contract for work he does not have the requisite license or skill to perform. Future contracts will include proper notice of the three-day right to cancel the transaction for any door-to-door sales. Future services will also include obtaining necessary permits and inspections. Wiesen also promised to become properly licensed before entering into future contracts. The consent judgment includes an injunction from engaging in deceptive or unconscionable acts in the future, and Wiesen agreed to cooperate with the investigation of any future complaints. The judgment was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law.
