Cheap materials. Great in sales and poor in quality, response, workmanship, timing and completion. The worst building experience ever.

This experience has been a nightmare. If you are considering building your home with Commodore Homes using Ozark Homes, I highly suggest you go anywhere else. We started this process in December and ordered our home in January of 2024. Our house was completed by Commodore Homes in March and delivered to Ozark Homes in March. Half our house was delivered April 19, and the crew got it stuck in the mud and left it there for the weekend. The other half was delivered April 22, and they dug the other half out of the mud. The halves were parked and not touched until May 30. We had golf ball hail hit our home (still in two halves) on May 26. I emailed **** stating there was damage to the plastic, and plastic was not replaced. Water was coming inside the house. On May 30th, they brought in cranes and set up the house, but they did not put the roof up until June 5th and did not finish the sides of the roof until June 21. We had so much water in the house from the rain that there was mold in all the bedrooms, living room, and kitchen. The ceiling drywall in the bedrooms even fell down raining water and insulation everywhere. They only replaced the wet dry wall and performed NO mold treatment. You can clearly see where the drywall was replaced. The insulation in the attic still has not been replaced back as it should. I noticed a lot of gaps and holes throughout the home. There are several spots you can see the sub floor because the flooring isn't done well. Also, be sure to check all your cabinet doors and cabinets for damage before closing. Basically, it is September of 2024, and our house still is not finished. The pipes under the house are leaking. There are several things that should have been done that have not been completed (like a handrail on the stairs or the mirrors dont light up because there is an electrical problem). You will be left feeling powerless and unhappy!

Terrible quality and workmanship. Commodore Homes should be ashamed putting these homes out there. I don't believe for one second this company cares about anything but money. Comparing the house like a used car - stating that liability is no longer their problem as my elderly mother is the second owner. That is absolutely ridicules, the house was built not even 3 years and should not be having roof problems. DO NOT BUY from this company, it should be shut down after reading all the negative reviews out there.

      Re: Home Serial Number *****

******************* called and spoke with a representative of Commodore Homes of PA ****************** yesterday. She stated that she was calling on behalf of her mother, the current homeowner. She stated that the range vent leaks water into the microwave sometimes. She was asked for the serial number of the home. The name of the homeowner of record did not match her mothers name. She was asked if she purchased the home pre-owned and she stated, yes it was.
Our representative explained that the Commodore Homes Limited ******** Coverage is provided to the first retail buyer of the home for the period of one year from the date of retail purchase. The coverage is not transferable. The representative went on to explain that when you purchase a pre-owned home, much like buying a used car, there may be dings or dents because the home was used.
The representative was asked where the terms and conditions of the Limited ******** coverage could be found. It was explained that the information requested could be found in the Homeowners Manual. Our representative read thru the manual and shared the page references and content with the homeowners daughter. She was also advised that there is a single page ******** Statement included in the Homeowners Packet with every new home we sell. It was explained to the caller that ******** Coverage for the first retail buyer complies with applicable HUD regulations.
The was manufactured 2/2/2022, it was reported sold to the first retail purchaser 7/11/2022. The warranty coverage for the first retail purchaser of the home expired 7/2023, just over a year ago.

This company thinks changing ownership removes them liability for the products thy manufactured prior to their take over. That's like a murderer changing his name to relieve himself from a crime.

Would never purchase another Commodore home even if they called and offered it to me half price. Since the day the house was delivered we have dealt with shoddy workmanship, using the cheapest materials you could imagine. If we had purchased a cheap home then I wouldn't be upset, but to spend almost $200k on a home and have it look like someone with no skills threw it together just makes you sick to your stomach. Add on top of that getting anything fixed, repaired, resolved is almost impossible. The manufacturer doesn't want to stand behind it. I would never purchase nor send someone to deal with what me and my family has had to deal with. Both Managers they have in place to handle customer issues immediately claim everything is within their specs because apparently they have it in place so it doesn't even have to be close to perfect. This has to be the worst home experience I have ever had. How can BBB allow them to continue in business with these practices. We purchased our homes from Pinewood Homes in ************, **.

Having read through the homeowners complaint and reviewed the file kept here at the factory, we are disappointed. We cherish our homeowners and value them not only as customers but also as persons. It is for that reason that we have covered many cosmetic issues that were reported beyond the 21-day cosmetic warranty reporting period (which is for the first 21 days of ownership). The reason being, if it is not reported during the walk thru of the home with the dealer at the time of purchase or with in twenty-one (21) days of the purchase date, it is more than likely the issue is the result of damage and not defect.  We have repaired cosmetic issues outside of the 21 day period as a gesture of goodwill for this homeowner.
The home is approaching its second birthday of ownership, and it is well beyond the Commodore Homes Limited Warranty period of one year. Even so, recently we dispatched our contractor to make repairs to a range vent that by all indications was wind damaged- the internal flap was severely bent allowing wind driven elements to enter it. We replaced the vent and the microwave oven as a courtesy and at no cost to the homeowner. This concern should have submitted as a claim to their homeowners insurance for coverage/repair- but we took care of it.
Even though the home was manufactured as ordered and the design for the systems in the home are engineer stamped and HUD approved, the homeowner has requested several modifications be made to the home after it was installed on site. This is even after third-party inspectors providing assurance that no defects exist, and the systems are performing as designed.
We recognize that there are two sides to every story. We have committed significant financial resources, much time and effort into earning this homeowners satisfaction. Unfortunately, and regrettably it appears no amount of effort would be enough to accomplish that goal.
      Sincerely,
The ****************** Commodore Homes of PA

My husband and I purchased our home through coastline homes in ************ and our home is a commodore home out of ************ I'm assuming and we've had nothing but problems poor work inside it's not put together well we've had it for 5 years and now we're looking at putting a whole new roof on because of something that they didn't do and I feel as if we shouldn't be the ones that have to be doing that in 5 years of a brand new home we've asked for help from the place that we purchased the home and they have not helped us much at all so I would recommend not buying a single home from that company because it's not what you think and now I am so upset that we spent all this money a hard-working money to purchase his home and for it to just fall apart

My name is *********************************. I plan on expanding my real estate holdings to include ******** ******** as I have family there. I reached out to ******* Homes and was put in contact with *****************************. In a discussion with ***** in approximately May of 2023, I explained my background in real estate development over the past 40 years which included both Stick built and Modular homes and how I was interested in developing a relationship with a modular home factory to supply homes to me. I then set out to securing land. After securing approximately 18 acres of land that would yield about 50 ************* lots in September of 2023, I reached out to ***** to tell him the good news. I informed him that in good faith, I would purchase a single home to start the process off. The subdivision would take approximately 2 years to complete. Since I was relocating from out of state, this first home would be for myself so I would have a presence in ********. From September of 2023 till December of ****************************************************************************************************** December of 2023 I was told that I needed to be a licensed ******** contractor in order for them to sell me the home. I was like WTF? You waste months of my time before you spring this on me. Then ***************************** leaves ************ to work for Excel homes so it's no longer his problem. ***** gives me his replacements phone number which puts me in touch with a ***********************. I call *** and have to give him the ************** version of my situation as you would think ***************** have filled him in. *** was of no help which puts me in touch with ***************** the sales manager who refused to make the situation right. I have to say I am amazed that this company is still in business. All of this could have been avoided had they asked me right from the start if I had a contractors license from ********. This company is poorly operated. AVOID this place like the plague.

Horrible customer service and cheap construction. We have had several issues with our home and they wouldn't take responsibility for it or talk to us directly. If I could return the house I would. We are very disappointed.

A horrible and unethical place to work. Nothing but illegal mob mentality there. The enjoy ridding of good employees by lynching them. If you need o surance for health, do not opt to work there. They will milk out the "probation period" and axe you . I've not seen such an unethical business or so called "union" operate in such a way in my entire life.
