We entered into agreed project June 12, 2024, with ***** ******* CEO of Riverview Home Improvements, giving a down payment of $70,000. Work at our house began Aug 8, 2024. We have an invoice #**** that details the elements of the project, description of work, and amount for each. We upgraded concrete finish and decking material which made for changes to the invoice wording and cost (09/13/2024 and 10/22/2024). Change to outdoor living space roof design was also needed for stair clearance but no change in invoice. Total paid by 10/22/2024 was $113,000. Outstanding balance was $30,820. We purchased a remote ceiling fan, garage door, and garage door opener with approved allowances yet to be credited toward invoice balance. Roof crew arrived the morning of 10/04/2024 and began existing roofing removal and installation. I arrived home about 11:30am. The roof was covered with synthetic felt and metal roof was installed on the southwest slope of upper level. I observed that there was felt known as tar paper from previous roof installation left under the synthetic felt. This seemed strange to me due to the fact I was to get wood substrate inspection and damaged wood replaced. In the afternoon, the onsite manager said that the synthetic felt just installed was to be removed before metal panels were to be installed. He said it would also be pulled from under the southwest slope already covered by metal. Monday the 7th they returned and finished the roof replacement. We have moved from concern about the roof installation to a complaint about the roof work. Our complaints: a leaking vent pipe boot (since has been repaired), screws not holding in wood substate, damaged wood not replaced, and the absence of ice and water membrane at all ***** and flashing points. We were assured that the roof crew would be experienced professional installers of metal. We have discussed above with Mr. ******* and have not come to a resolution. Construction stopped after this.
