Eddie *** the owner of a handyman service was paid more than 50% down on all work which he agreed to complete. He was given 100% of funds for a bathroom remodel when he was given an additional 50% down on the other work he took on altogether totaling more approximately $20,000. work was to be done and completed to where we could just move back into those rooms. This included repair and replacing floor joists through a kitchen, three smaller bedroom size rooms, a living room and dining room, remodeling two bathrooms. Work to be completed included a tile shower installation as well as new paint and floor covering and cabinet installation in the kitchen. He offered to install all new pex plumbing after his crew didnt use primer or the correct glue for cpvc. if I covered the cost of materials which I did. He showed up and did decent work for a week and then only showed 0-3 days over a two week or longer period. He was to be complete with the work in three weeks and stated hed be here until it was done. He wasnt done in that time so I asked him when he would have it completed. He advised mid April. The work remains incomplete. Its now mid June and work remains undone. He also requested additional funds to assist him with labor which were paid and I have cancelled checks to prove that while he never completed even the initial work which was the bathrooms that were paid in full. Currently there remains $2,000 left to be paid upon completion of all work and we have two rooms waiting on floor joists, four rooms needing drywall completed, cabinet installation and floor covering and he refuses to show and complete the job. He always states someone is sick or didnt show up for work. During one such conversation a worker in the background can be heard saying I showed up! Also after payment he purchased a new truck and trailer. One of his staff has stated my funds were spent on that as well as paying a lowes customer he damaged property of as hes used by lowes for jobs.
