In Feb of this year, *************************** signed a contract with Harbor Chase Assisted Living in Plainfield. After 22 days he gave notice that he was moving out because he was unhappy with the care he was receiving. He was told he was required to give 30 days notice and pay for the following month which he did even though he moved out of the facility two weeks later. Harbor Chase is demanding he pay the one-time community fee of $3,500 even though he was only a resident for 22 days prior to giving notice. This is unreasonable and is an unfair business practice.appears . Please help *** resolve this matter

On October 27, 2021 I signed a contract for in-house memory care for my mother. Included in the 60 page contract are 6 pages outlining the requirement to participate in arbitration should there be any disputes. On March 14th of 2022, I sent a letter to the executive director requesting a return of rent paid. On April 7th the director called to deny the requested refund. I then asked to move this issue to arbitration as noted in the contract. She said she would have to get back to me on how to do this.Since that time I have not heard from anyone. I have called and sent letters to all of the corporate officers without any response. My family is just asking for the terms noted in the contract be followed.
