We were referred to *************** by a former employee who has sent numerous clients our way. *************** had suffered a loss due to a fire and hired us as public adjusters for her claim. We recommended a construction restoration company to handle the mitigation (tear-out) and rebuild of the property.

We worked diligently with the insurance company, as they were initially offering less than the necessary amount to mitigate and rebuild the property. During this process, we secured temporary housing for Mr. and *************** while their claim was being adjusted and worked on. The home was completely gutted and remediated, but the insurance company was not covering the full cost of rebuilding, leading to an extended negotiation process. Ultimately, the insurance company paid enough to cover the mitigation costs, which were applied to the mitigation invoice.

However, *************** began slandering our company, contacting the village, our subcontractors, and the ********** of ********** Due to this, the construction company declined to rebuild the property and retained an attorney because they were also being defamed as well.

There were sufficient funds to pay the construction company for their mitigation services, and the remaining money will go to the ***** family to complete the rebuild.

Unfortunately, insurance claims can take a long time to negotiate, and clients often direct their frustration towards us when delays occur.

I am rejecting this response because: to whom it may concern, the issue at hand has not been resolved and i did not slander or defame their companies i just told facts from when they started and they got enough money to get my home to 65%  before my bank would of issued anymore funds but all they wanted was more money and yes i went to my town to ask some questions, and she asked me a few questions about when we signed contract and i told her 10/03/2023 and she told me that they were suppose to register with town then and they didn't until i put a complaint with the department of insurance i tried to be patient but i am still not in my home and as i said my home is 975 square feet and it should have been done a long time ago and as for me holding them up that is absurd. all i wanted was to get back home why would i hold them up. p.s. not resolved.

      Sincerely,

We are a public adjuster firm that works directly with the insured and their insurance company. We use industry-standard software to determine claim pricing and negotiate to ensure that all necessary improvements are covered to restore the property to its pre-loss condition. The insurance industry sets the pricing standards.

The mitigation company was also compensated based on these insurance company rates.

We take pride in our reliability and the quality of our work, so receiving calls about being slandered was upsetting. We always strive to do our best for the insured. Initially, the claim was under $18,000, but after lengthy negotiations with the insurance company, we were able to secure over $180,000.

Due to the slanderous comments, we decided to part ways with the insured. There are sufficient funds escrowed with the bank to restore the property to its pre-loss condition.

It should be noted that the construction company does not register with the city or pull permits until they are ready to begin work.

We are simply seeking to be released from this claim in an amicable manner and resolve this complaint on the BBB.

I am rejecting this response because:
Funds are issued by line items
(Electrical line item funds were released and all electrical services were not complete)
Noted to be in compliance with Village of Park Forest Il.
Contractor's are required to be registered to perform work. Please review @ VOPF website for more details.
Any money that was released for line items that have not been completed shall be returned to insured.
Insurer has sent out letter of termination, and seeking resolve for finances issued to restore property to its pre-loss condition with funding that was allocated during negotiations for said repairs.
      Sincerely,

Safe harbor, public adjusters (*********************** ) and their preferred contractors were hired to do storm damage on my roof. *******************, the contractor who came out and did the initial assessment of my roof, found that I also had soft decking to my roof. It would need to be replaced because it would be an un-nailable surface after they remove the old shingles. After the contractors came out and did the work and left for the day I went into my attic to check and see, and I found that none of the damaged decking had been replaced. I immediately called ********************* and sent him photos that I had of the roof. He then told me that the project manager and the contractor will be out to take care of the issue. That was in the summer 2022. No one has showed up to do that work or complete the job yet .
