    The ********************************** We had them for a week in 3 different households and all but 6 died around the same time only a day or two apart no symptoms but slightly sleepier then the other chicks ordered from other places those are still doing fine .

    Received My 15 Black Marans Females on the 3rd of April. All in good health. There were 2 that were looking very small and punny. but they are hanging. in there they are growing fast and enjoy watching them I would recommend ******** they are fast and commutated good

    Disappointed in quality control and packing of birds. I got birds that were not what I requested as well as I got a bunch of dead birds because their discretion assumed our weather would be warm enough.

    I ordered 50 female baby chicks in March 2022. They all survived and are now laying!!! I ordered in batches, by color of eggs they lay. I cannot shout loudly enough at how pleased I am. I have had chickens 40 years. The previous hatchery had nothing I wanted to order. Happy, happy happy!!**** in *********

    Have had nothing but issues from tractor supply and hover hatchery bird not what there suppose to be and bought 8 sexed hens and got 8 roosters and again bought 5 hens and got 2 roosters bought 3 silkies all dead before I got them home..I've had several deformed chics. Aswell ..quality is not there..very unhappy so and have sense started going somewhere else for my farm animals...bad business.

    It is with pleasure I write this review. I am a novice to the chicken ownership world and did much research before I made a decision on where to order from and what breed to order. After much research and thought I chose Hoover's Hatchery and I am elated with my decision. I ordered five Barred Rock, five Buff Orpington and five Egg Production Assortment, supposedly all hens, but was hoping for at least one cockerel. That remains to be seen, but I think I have one Barred Rock with promise in that department. My chicks arrived happy and healthy. I have followed my research instructions with probiotics and electrolytes. Two or three of them had pasty butt the first week, but cleaned that up and they are happy and growing beautifully. Curiosity killed the cat on the egg production group. I did a lot of reading and couldn't come to an absolute conclusion on what I had. in that group. I had previously contacted the hatchery with some questions and Rose was most helpful in assisting me with the order and questions I had. I contacted her again about what I might have in the egg production group and she asked for pics of the chicks which I promptly sent. I now know my third group are Cinnamon Queens and they are beauties. I am so looking forward to them growing into their role. My friends cannot believe I haven't lost any. I tell them about Hoover's Hatchery and how healthy the chicks were on arrival and now as they grow and what a great support group of professionals they have working for them. You just can't go wrong with Hoover's Hatchery quality. They are terrific and I am so glad I found them.

    Bought 20 guinea keets and 8 goslings. 4 guineas were dead in the box on arrival, and the remaining 16 died within 24 hours. I received a full refund for the guineas. The goslings all died also. 1 died within 24 hours so I received a refund. The remaining 7 suddenly died a few days later, so no refund and a loss of $147. I have never had birds just up and die like this. I am seeing lots of complaints locally (on Facebook forums and Google Reviews) that people are losing all their birds when purchased from Hoover's. I think Hoover's Hatchery is no longer a reliable source for live poultry.

    My family has gotten Hoover’s chicks for years at local farm stores and mail order. This year was our largest, over 425 birds in almost every category they offer. I love the variety and their prices are some of the best. Customer service helped get my order in after issues with the website, and birds started arriving in early April. The rest are later because of availability. But beyond pricing and variety, experience hasn’t been good, especially this year. For the trouble. First, the website was not up to date with actual availability, making ordering online nearly impossible (at the time of review, over a month after trying, it still isn’t up to date). After going back and forth with customer service, most times waiting days or even a week for a response, they finally got my order put in since only they could see the accurate ship dates. My first order was good, not great - some shipped a day later than expected, but got to NW MT in two days and most were healthy. Ten geese, all thriving, and 20 ducks. We had one duck die a few hours after arriving, and one with an injury. They were nice and credited for the injured duck (which I did not expect) but seemed to ignore the dead one. Next order came the next week. We got 20 turkeys and more ducks. The duck order was short entire breeds and had incorrect counts, many died, and an obviously deformed one was included. I sent an email immediately, but it took calling and emailing to get a response which took weeks (and so far no refund/replacement). The assorted turkeys were fine, and the heritage turkeys okay. We had a few that died quickly. It seems in the rush to fill orders they are careless with quality, and sometimes quantity. I don’t look forward to the rest of my orders with how these have gone, with the questionable quality and lack of responsive and available customer service.

    Our local farm store sold Hoover's birds this spring. I was hesitant to buy, because another farm store in the area stated that all of their birds arrived dead with no heat packs from Hoover, but it was convenient. I've lost half of the guinea's that I bought (the farm store exchanged for live birds and said that the guinea's arrived "fragile"). I bought 5 salmon favorelle "pullets", and 3 are roosters.
