I'd like to file a complaint against the McKee RV. We purchased a used $200,000 motorhome from them. They sold us a battery warranty for $1,479. We did not receive the complete information on the battery warranty (only received one page) and had to ask for it several days later after we returned home. When we received the complete battery warranty, we read that the batteries had to be checked and readings documented before we left the dealership. This was not done. This may void the warranty. The warranty was nonrefundable. Who wants a warranty that can't be used? All of the batteries in the motorhome need to be replaced, but there is a 90-day delay on the warranty and you can only file one claim per year. We were not told any of these things. We were told by the F&I Manager that we really needed the warranty because it would solve all our battery problems. We were misled! We asked for our money back or all new batteries. McKee will not work with us on this at all. They are ignoring my phone calls, emails, and texts. We have not been able to use the motorhome without batteries. When we bought the motorhome, I asked several times about the condition of the batteries. They assured us they would do a complete inspection on the entire vehicle before we took possession of it. Also, we did not receive the entire tire and wheel warranty information for which we paid $1,391. We would like to cancel that one as well. Other policies are less expensive and have more coverage, but that is another story. We thought we could trust the F&I Manager, but apparently we were wrong. How can the State of Iowa allow this dealership to continue to operate a business this way.

I found a camper on a private deal and the owners went to McKee to shop for a new one. Somewhere during their shopping experience McKee offered them what they understood to be a discount and would allow them to sell me my camper through mckees which would help them on their price as well as taxes but the deal for my camper would be honored. All the owners asked was that I wire payment for mine to McKee which I was happy to do since they had been nice to me and helped me out buying my first camper. Before sending the money I verified with the sales manager ********************* on three consecutive days that the price would be the same as our original deal. Once the money went through they stopped answering the phone and decided not to inform myself or the owners until 430 on a Friday that what they had actually done was buy my camper from them for $4k more than my original deal in order to cut me out so they could sell it either as a quick profit off of me or if I refused, which I did, they could list it for more. Which they did, its currently listed on their website for 13k more than my original deal. After swindling the owners and s******* me out of my trailer the sales manager informed me that he wasnt actually involved with the deal the owners made with the dealer and peoples word wasnt as good these days. Hypocrite. As if his or McKees is worth anything either. The original owners even tried to back out of the deal to get me the original price and even offered to make up the difference(which I declined) but McKees told them it was too late and papers were signed. Refusing to correct their mistake to make more by selling my camper off their lot. Luckily they did send me my money back. How sweet of them. Scumbags all around. Both myself and the owners were promised multiple times they would honor our agreement. So Im back to square one after having the perfect camper in the palm of my hand. Money grubbing whores the lot of them. Encourage nobody to do business here.

ABSOULUTLY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE: SAFTEY EVER I bought a truck from MCKEE I will NEVER DO BUSINESS with them ever ever again: They never disclosed that it was in an accident or that the frame was bent and the truck was dangerous to drive. When I got my truck back from the frame shop... I called Mckee to explain the situation, before ever asking for anything, I was told that I bought an "AS IS TRUCK" and that if I wanted a better vehicle that I should purchase a better truck.. this was after all a $9800 truck. I was told basically that I was low class, had poor credit, and that I should start making my payments on time and to stop playing a victim. I was not looking for any type of repayment.. I was just wanting them to understand that it was a dangerous situation, and they should do better when inspecting their vehicles.. The "manager" basically blasted me for buying a used vehicle from them. His entire attitude was that I WAS IN THE WRONG BECOUSE I PURCHASED A MEASLEY $9800 VEHICLE FROM THEM.. THE NERVE OF ME! I am so upset right now over the way I was talked to... MCKEE AUTO & RV has certainly went down hill in the the customer service side of things since the last car I purchased from them in 2012. I will never buy from them again and I recommend you DONT If for some reason you choose to.. BUY THE WARRENTY.. chances are you WILL need it

Bought a brand new 2023 Thor Challenger. Took possession on May 18th. Drove from Indiana 8 hours. The salesman was fine, and the finance guy was great. Their service department needs an overhaul. 100 miles from the dealership, the generator quits, won't stay running. Called the dealer. "check the oil in the generator". Isn't that something you should have done? Re-started numerous times on the way home. In test driving the refrigerator was not secure, so they tried a bracket with gorilla tape. Geesh! Washed it the next day only to find the grill, headlights and parking lamps so loose, they rattled. The door had to be adjusted. Now the emergency brake is sticking and burnt the drum. Sounds like a flat tire. I have been days trying to find a dealer to do the warranty work on the brake. Generator still has a problem. Might try running the generator with a full load on it before you turn the coach loose. I was a body shop manager in an earlier period of my life. If I had a department that ran that poorly, I would have fired them all and started over. I wouldn't take a gift from this place and have bought my last product from Thor.

Absolutely the WORST RV dealership ever. Ordered a new RV in the summer of 2021, with a promised delivery date of no later than January of 2022. Did not intend on trading our coach until we had the new one, but after receiving phone calls stating that the quoted trade in price would not be honored if we didn't give our trade up "right now"...we reluctantly went ahead and "traded" it. Not only did they "sit" on our trade-in amount along with the down payment....they sold our trade in less than one week. They then proceeded to ignore many phone calls, voicemails and emails for months. We were repeatedly harassed by what has to be the most annoyingly stupid salesman they employ. He couldn't tell us where our supposed order was, but he tried again and again to sell us something already sitting on their lot. What finally arrived, after more than a year later, was not only NOT what we ordered....it was an entirely different year, color etc. Jon McKee, do not waste your time attempting to explain away your utter lack of professionalism to this review. There's a very good reason your business is not BBB accredited. Spare me the "we did nothing wrong spiel"....you did NOTHING right is the reality. You just keep looking for the nonexistent signed contract - the one you could not produce, because it never existed. Even now, months after we had to involve our attorney....this idiotic sales guy is emailing us about whether "we're still in the market for a vehicle." The same guy that we had to ask to NOT have to deal with before you screwed us over. Let me be crystal clear. Not only would I never buy any RV from your shady company, I'd walk barefoot on broken glass before I ever thought of buying anything from you. We found a dealership that actually cares about things like....integrity, good business practice and most importantly - keeping their word and making sure their customers are more than satisfied.

My husband and I purchased a Class A motorhome from McKee ** in *****, **** on February 3, 2022. All paperwork was completed on February 3rd making us the new owners. The ** was left at McKee to have an awning installed to be picked up April 26. We traveled to McKee on May 2nd to discuss the delay of the awning and to put some items inside that I had purchased. On May 20th we received a call that the Motorhome was ready for pick-up, and drove 4 hours to pick it up May 21st. When we arrived ********************* asked if we had the license plates and we told him we had put them in a kitchen drawer on May 2nd. Upon entering the Motorhome we immediately realized that all of the new items I had purchased for the Motorhome were missing. I immediately told ***** that everything is gone! He went back inside the building and came back with the Sales Manager (*********************), who was carrying our license plates, a container of my prescription medication, and the pictures of our Grandchildren. Everything else was gone. **** said he would give us a couple hundred dollars for our loss, and I told him the lost items were worth a lot more than $200.00. During the rest of the morning I had several conversations with our Salesman *********************. I told him that I had an itemized list at home with everything I had purchased and would send it to him the next day. The itemized list total came to $438.26. ***** told me we would be reimbursed for our loss. ********************* refuses to do so. He has told me that I am being ridiculous for expecting this. They admit that the items were taken by their cleaning staff, but say they were only doing their job. As we pulled away from the dealership **** ran out to the motorhome and told my husband they would send a check for $200.00. We expect the full amount of $438.26 to be reimbursed. McKee ** refuses. Because of the ************* theft issues and customer services issues, I would never do business again with McKee **. I would rate them a 1.
