    Four months ago during abad storm that hit Oakland, IA my father’s roof was damaged by his neighbor’s fallen tree. The neighbor called Strouf Tree Services and took responsibility for the tree and the tree was removed within a day or two. Our family never talked to this service provider due to the neighbor saying they would pay for the tree removal. The service never contacted my family to talk about estimates. After the tree was removed my father was sent a $10k bill. This company proceeded to harass my father about the bill. Our family had not even contacted insurance yet to see how much insurance would pay a company to remove the tree. Also the bill stated the company had done 8 hours of work but our family noticed they had cut the tree down with in two-three hours and the remaining hours their equipment sat empty on the lawn. It is disheartening a company would take advantage of a person when they are just trying to find a way to fix their home without breaking their pockets. Our insurance eventually paid the tree service however it took a long time for the insurance to process our families claims. The insurance did not pay the full amount of their bill. We would have never called a company to do work that the insurance could not pay in full. Be aware that this company has suspect practices especially during times of need.
