We have been customers of this business (formerly *********************** for over 20 years without any issues. Recently, we've had instances in which we needed support and can never get ahold of anyone at the company though they represent themselves as having 24/7 support. We have left several messages with no call backs. Today, we again have a need for support regarding a different issue and I cannot reach anyone or get a callback. We are not receiving emails at our DWX email address and cannot get the support we need from the company therefore, we are not receiving what we are paying for. Please help me to get contact from the business for technical support and also to discuss our future patronage of this business going forward.

IOS 18 Update Breaks IMAP Mail Connections World wide.

***** recently rolled out iOS 18, and as with any major update, it brings a host of exciting new features and improvements. However, not all users are having a smooth experience. Reports have started surfacing online about a significant issue: the update appears to break IMAP connections when using the default Apple Mail app, leaving users unable to access their email.

IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is a popular protocol used by many email services to sync emails across multiple devices. After updating to iOS 18, some users are finding that their IMAP email accounts simply stop working in the native Apple Mail app. The symptoms reported include:

Emails failing to load or update.
Inability to send or receive new emails.
Error messages stating that the Mail app cannot connect to the email server.

Currently No Official Acknowledgement from Apple (Yet)

What You Can Do In the Meantime:
Use a third-party mail app: Many popular email clients, like Gmail or Outlook, have their own IMAP settings might not be affected by the same bug. Installing one of those apps could give you uninterrupted access to your email until Apple resolves this issue.
Access your email via webmail: Most email providers offer web access to your inbox, so logging in via a browser can serve as a reliable backup.

      Looking Ahead
It's still early days for iOS 18, and Apple typically follows up major updates with incremental patches to address bugs. Users can expect a fix to be rolled out in an upcoming iOS 18.x update. Since September 17, 2024, ***** has rolled out versions 18.1, 18.1.1, 18.1.1.b1, 18.1.1.b2, 18.1.1.b3 & 18.1.1.b4 with no fix. Until then, if you rely heavily on the world email standard IMAP-connected email accounts, you may want to hold off on upgrading or explore temporary workarounds. In the meantime, it's important to keep an eye on *****'s support pages and user forums for any official news on the issue.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 12/11/2024

      Complaint: 22617703

I am rejecting this response because:

While this response addresses the reason for my direct outreach to the business (however it should be noted the problem seemed to resolve itself without taking these steps), it does not address the other part of my complaint towards the business. As noted in my original complaint, we have not, in recent attempts, been able to get ahold of this business when we needed prompt assistance. We also never received a single call back response to our numerous messages left with the business. The business still advertises on their website 24/7 support, attached is a snip supporting this claim. What steps is the business taking to ensure and provide the 24/7 support for our future needs? Will we be able to get ahold of any technical support staff should we need assistance going forward? If I choose to cancel my service with DWX down the road, will I be able to get ahold of anyone to do so?

      Sincerely,

      ***** *****
