My husband and I connected with the owner, *********************************, on February 17th and had him look at and price clearing 1.5 acres of wooded land, burning those trees, and smoothing/grading the ground. We accepted his quote and the company began work the second week of March. An attempt was made to start burning the trees while the clearing was progressing but with all the rain we had in the spring it was not working well without blowers to stoke the fire. When the clearing was completed we were asked to wait a month until mid-April when the trees had dried out for the burning to be completed. At that time, we were asked for a check. My husband paidthe full amount. He says it was the dumbest thing hes ever done and knew better. With the burn ban starting in May, we reached out to **** in early-April to confirm the date they would be back out. This began a four month back and forth of being told they were coming out, them not showing up, apologies and thanks for our patience, and spotty communication. We had to call from different phone numbers eventually to get ahold of them. The last promised date to come back and complete the work was July 10th. On July 11th, when no one had shown up on the 10th, we called from our sons phone and asked **** if he was coming that week. He laughed at my husband, told him no, hung up on him, and immediately blocked our sons number. We have had no communication with him since. The property was left in such a terrible condition that everyone we have had out to look at completing the job has given us a cost estimate that is more than the original amount we agreed to with Rippin Roots. Each company has told us that the work that was done makes it more challenging to finish than if nothing had been done. We have learned that we are not the only people that have had this experience with Rippin Roots.
