An interior designer I hired had this company come to do drawings for a home remodel. It took them several months to produce a drawing, and the designer invoiced me over $1,000 for the time it took to get a hold of this company. The drawings were simply illegal and would never be approved. I can't get any fixes and *********************************, the owner, has refused to give me a refund. Her partner, ***********************, is the one who did the drawings, and he sexually harassed me when he delivered them. ***** is unreachable. Additionally, the invoice for my $2,000 deposit has the wrong company information on it.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/22/2023

    I received a complaint dated May 16,2023 from **************************

On Oct. 4, 2022 ***** signed a contract for engineered plans to remodel existing/partial and new addition for the amount of $4000.00. She wrote a check to my company Drafting Board Solutions Inc for a deposit amount of $2000.00. I told her at the time it would be several weeks before we could get started.

On Dec. 21, 2022, my CAD operator ***************** went to her house and field measured the house and then made an existing floor plan  that was needed to start project which I paid Rob $550.00 to do this.

We had a approximately 5  meetings with client and prospective contractor and her designer. We designed three different floor plans and she still could not make up her mind what she wanted. These are working floor plans to get her feed back on what she liked or wanted changed, nothing finalized.  On April 11, 2023 ******************************* of House of ***** emailed us saying ***** wanted her deposit back. Now we never did get feed back from last set of working drawings which we put everything she wanted in them.

She called me (first I've ever heard from her since first meeting  on May 15 asking for refund. I explained I paid *** $550.00 and ********* expense besides trips to her house. She stated I gave her illegal prints, not true, They were working/preliminary blueprints, never signed or sealed from my engineer as we never had finalized plans. I told her I had well spent the deposit working on her plans and I would not be refunding any monies.

She then started in with the sexual harassment . This is bogus. ***** was never alone with her. Every meeting that he went to on my behalf, either the contractor or designer was there.  ******************************** and myself have know ***** for over 35 years. He is a combat decorated veteran.  In fact she has  filed a compliant against the designer ***************************** of House of ***** Interiors. I think that office is in *******. I and my daughter own our company. We have no partners and no payroll at this time as I **** *** at the end of the year.  ***** was just assisting me  as he is a retired draftsman with over 40 years of experience helping me for no charge getting my business started.  ********* was there at the last meeting with ***** and *****. Please ask ********* for what transpired. ************ She will vouch that no sexual harassment took place and about her asking for refunds of all monies and what she was going to say to get me to refund her deposit.

She asked ********* for a refund which ********* refused and asked ********* to refund her the $2000.00 deposit she gave me. She also asked the prospective contractor ****************************** to give her a credit of $3000.00 if she gave him the job to cover what she paid ********* and my company. After speaking to ********* last week, I learned ***** got on ******** and slandered ********* and her company. She told ********* if she didn't refund the monies or if I didn't,  she would claim sexual harassment as that always got people to pay. ********* has hired an attorney and my appointment is June 6th with my attorney for the slander and harassment I and my company are receiving.

I can provide copies of her check, receipt from *** for payment and emails form her designer, screenshot of her call and all the calls between ** and the designer. I will not be refunding any monies on top of that I will now incur attorney fees over her harassment. The only wrong information on my invoice is my work number which has been changed since Dec.

I am rejecting this response because: It's false. I only met the person who is responding once.  She has no idea what transpired after.  She did not attend the subsequent meeting, especially the one in which I was sexually harassed.  There were not 5 meetings.  I can show proof of my calendar schedule.  Also I only have one drawing and it's simply wrong.  This has nothing to do with whether or not I can make up my mind.  The designer tried to tell this business that the drawings were wrong and they were completely unresponsive, but the designer continued to add up a tab for the time spent trying to chase the draftsman.  I myself am a decorated combat veteran and ********** graduate.  And I abide by an honor code.  This business is a farce.  They pretended to be another business - under the name of the drafstman's ex-wife.

You are welcome to look at the drawings.  I had a certified architect explain to me that they are completely out of compliance with basic codes.

    Sincerely,

    *************************
