    I first contacted *** on March 7, 2022 regarding building a screen room for our house. We had already bought the materials and got the permit and we just needed someone to build it for us. *** came over our house and gave us an estimate of $1800.00. We liked the price and decided to hire him. Next day *** came over to start the job and he finished it in 2 days. Upon completion we paid him the $1800.00 he asked for in cash. There was no written contract or anything but we verbally agreed that if it didn't pass inspection or it leaked after it rains or any other issues that he will come back and fix whatever is wrong. This conversation happened in front of my husband and brother. About a week later we got a downpour and lo and behold the roof leaked in several spots. I called *** and let him know, he said he will stop by and fix the problem. A couple of weeks later he came by and did something on the roof and said the problem is fixed and it shouldn't leak anymore. The next time it rained, the roof leaked again. I called *** again and let him know. Again he said he will come by and fix it. Another 2 weeks go by and he finally showed up. Again he did something on the roof and said that should take care of it. I told him what if it leaks again and he said he doesn't know what else to do because he doesn't know where it's leaking from. Next time it rained, the roof leaked again (and it leaks from several different spots). I tried to call him again but he would not answer. I sent him text messages which he never responded to. So I had my husband call him and on one occasion he was able to get a hold of him and *** told him he would come over and take a look, but he never showed up. Now every time it rains the roof leaks. I've been trying to call and text *** but he never answers any of my calls of texts. We've built this room so we can sit outside and enjoy it but because of *** it's become a nightmare. I don't know what else to do except ask for your help. Thank you.

    Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/06/21) */ I built the room for ***** that someone else had started and done wrong the room past inspection even though it was the wrong material I have been there two or three times resealing the roof we are busy I told her I would be there in a couple weeks and I did and the part about me asking for cash was not true I never asked for cash I told her a check was fine her and her husband said we will pay you cash that was their choice And I have also gone back and resealed it again but she keep spraying it with a garden hose before the sealant has a chance to dry I just redid it two days ago and she is not getting water anymore thank you Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/06/23) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) There are many non factual statements in the owner's response but I'm not going to go into that. The point is *** did show up at my house after you contacted him and worked on the roof. According to him the problem was from the screws he installed and the roof should not leak anymore. As of now we are just waiting for the next rain fall to see if the roof is going to leak or not.
