On April 2nd a guy named *********************** with liquid computerz contacted me as a computer guy who can fix my computer problems that I posted on Thumbtack. I gave him the job because he promised me that I won't have to pay him a dime if he doesn't fix my problem. The guy came back on the 10th of April to finish the work. He tryna give me a different old machine for server. I said you have to hook it up. He said that's not his job but he'll do me the favor. I was still naive and kept trusting him. He hooked jt up, but nothing works! I asked him to map the drives he doesn't know what to do. God is my witness he tried and made everything worse! He destroyed everything. My regular computer was working fine, I lost everything on it. I told him that I lost my stuff. He said they're still there you still have to look for them. He took the money and said he'd come back to fix it. The guy can't even reverse what he destroyed. I asked for a refund. He said he'll have to block me and call me in court if he has to refund me while I have no computer to do work and no money to pay another legit tech. We have tried to resolve this matter with this customer on multiple occasions but he is being unrealistic and has been ignoring our attempts at resolving this. We charged this customer $1000 for data recovery, we only recovered half his data so we gave him 50% off. The work itself cost us $200 in software and programs give or take to recover this customers data, we only made $300 give or take on the data recovery. After a week of this customer having his data, he then began to request , not a partial refund, but a full refund as he wasn't happy with the data he got back, it was the half he didn't want. We cannot offer him a full refund, he is unrealistic and unreasonable as it cost us $200 give or take and he's had the data for well over a week, he could have easily saved it by now, it makes no sense.
In regards to the server, this customer requested a backup solution and we provided him a refurbished server with backup and RAID 1 installed. The customer did not know his own network credentials and therefor would not be able to utilize the machine the way he wanted but the machine works as expected. Due to this, I told him I could remotely assist him as a courtesy in figuring out his network credentials or we could refund him $400 for the inconvenience. This customer demanded a full refund, he would not take a partial refund, he would not work with us to resolve this, he is completely unreasonable at this time. All he wants is his money back and to keep the data we recovered for him.
This customer has ignored our attempts at reaching out to him which is quite unfortunate as he's been going to many different sources looking for mediation when we've been offering him resolutions.
You just cant help some people. (Shrug and Sigh)

I am rejecting this response because: All this company and *********************** provided me with is an unethical solution. This guy is a shady guy, very nasty, just an all talks piece of work individual. Just like words in a math problems, but no solutions. That's all he does. Now, he continues his arrogance against a client which is so unethical. He keeps being so cocky, unprofessional, and disrespectful by telling me that I had a cheap machine then he gave me a better machine which is a 20 years old metal machine but he claimed that's better than any machine that I have. He put a windows 10 that's not even activated on the machine for a server windows. He reformat my drive so he could reuse it on that machine and deleted every valuable data that I had for my business. He wanted me to just take the machine from him and be on my own. When I opened my eyes and said to him what's this buddy...you have to map the drives. He said he'll do it as a courtesy but his work is done already. He tried to map the drives and ended up deleted every on my user computer as well. This guy is up to no good. All he does is using intimidation by being a bullie. He's so unprofessional, disrespectful, and narcissist. I don't have time to go back and forth with that guy or that company so to speak. The guy promised me at the beginning that he'll do the job if he doesn't fix my problems I owe him nothing. Now that everything is messed up, nothing is functional, I asked the guy to grab his machine and refund me my money. Simple as that. There's no need for all that literature saying that some people you just can't help them. Pal you're in business, it's not always a win. You deliver some slappy services/works to an unhappy client, you have no right to be disrespectful and tryna put up a fight on top of it. All you do is refund the client and go about your day.

This guy is nuts.
We did our job and recovered half or more of his company data, in effect, we only charged him half the rate for Data Recovery. We provided him a server with Raid 1 and a backup solution as he requested. We were hired for Data Recovery and this customer wanted us to install a server and configure it at no extra cost, that was not in the scope of the work, as a courtesy I offered to map his drives to his machine which he didnt know the credentials to. Around a week after the job was completed, this customer started slandering us and asking for FULL refunds, which we denied. This customer has not let us try to assist him in anyway and has only continued to slander our business until we give him a full refund, again, he has not asked for assistance to resolve his concerns but he only wants a FULL refund. The data recovery job cost us just under $200 in software and programs give or take and well over 30 hours of our time, If we were to fully refund this customer, we would actually be loosing money on this job that we accomplished successfully. From the start, I informed the customer that we would not charge UNLESS we recovered data and we recovered half his data, hence the charge.
After some time, we offered this customer $400 as a refund to settle this dispute and again, he only wants a full refund, ignoring the fact that we recovered half his data and spent under $200 on programs and software. Its hard to reason with someone who isnt in the same mental capacity and understanding of the work we do and then expects a full refund when things aren't to his expectation. We have made this customer well informed throughout the entire process of exactly what to expect. I have tried to reason and understand this customer and he just wants a full refund, there is no reasoning. We believe the customer didnt receive the data he wanted and is now making claims until we refund him FULLY.
I stand by what I said, you just cant help some people. I'd love to take my car to the mechanic, have it fixed, then get a full refund but that's not the way the world works. If the customer had an issue with the work, a reasonable customer would let us try to resolve the issue and not request a full refund after the work is done. This customer went straight to slander and requesting a full refund.
Our company is dedicated to customer service and satisfaction but there's always going to be a bad egg in the bunch

I am rejecting this response because: Being a narcissist, being cocky thinking that you're so educated, and using a bunch of irrelevant examples won't make you intimidating. I'm not debating a computer literacy with anyone here. If I take my car to the shop, no matter if they spent years working on it, if they don't fix the issue that I told them that I had, they, by law, owe me my refund. If I take my car to do oil change they change tires and claimed that they did their work by purchasing 4 brand new tires for me and their work is complete, would that sound something fair to anyone. That's our case here. My server was failing and I couldn't access my files. I hired you to make them accessible to me. You did all that work you claimed that you did, and I can't access any of my files, what's the point of your work? I didn't hire you to perform any stunts. As a matter of fact you even make matters worse for my business where I lost clients. Is that fair to anyone? We're all customers in this world. Would you honestly feel being fairly treated for a service that you can't use or access when you pay so much money because you desperately needed it to be fixed and to your surprise things got worse. I even asked you for my old drive that you have in your possession. You said that there's nothing in it why I'm interested in it. All those things make you so arrogant, so narcissist, and so unprofessional thinking only about your interests and what only rocks your world.If you read my replies with care, you can clearly see that I do not stir up or incite any retaliation of any kind. I simply want a refund and we end this back and forth. No need for intimidation, sarcasm, narcissism, and/or unprofessionalism.
