Purchased a new home from Family Dream Homes for $135,000.00 and cannot get the company to complete the job after they received their final draw. My GFCI electrical switches are faulty and flashing red. The outlets trip when things are plugged in and it also affects my wired smoke alarms which they unhooked. My back door leaks water, front storm door does not fit in door frame. Refrigerator has rust and the ice maker does not work. These issues were brought to the companies VP of operations attention within a week of moving in.Initial Complaint

On 6/6/23, we contracted with Family Dream to have our new home built on our existing property. The total amount was $330,000. The mobile home was delivered two and a half months later, on August 25th, 2023. Shortly after delivery, ***********************, the General Manager, came out to collect a check for the final payment of over $300,000. Since that time, there has been one issue after another. The house is currently livable, but sits here, a full 5 months after delivery, still incomplete and with what we would consider moderate issues needing addressed. We do not have a certificate of Occupancy. Because of this we are not able to secure homeowners Insurance. We thought we were paying Family Dream for a turnkey home, and that we would not have to participate in the daily duties of supervising the construction. Being an experienced General Contractor myself, I was looking forward to sitting back while someone else handled the contracting duties: hiring subcontractors, scheduling, and supervising the work and quality of that work until completion. Boy was I wrong!Since the house has been delivered, the "Supervisor" has been to the homesite only 3 times over these five months. These visits only happened at our insistence, to deal with issues left behind by contractors that Family Dream hired. We had to hire our own plumber to fix issues with plumbing hook **** as well as a flooring contractor to fix improperly installed carpet. This was all done at the request of Family Dream ("We don't have anyone that can fix that properly. If you can have your own contractors do the work and pay them, we will reimburse you"). These contractors cost me almost $1,000 total, and even though I have requested repayment, I have yet to be reimbursed. I have had to coordinate with each trade, supervise the work, and basically serve as my own G.C. and Site Supervisor. I have reached this point only after seeing that they have no interest in responding to our issues in a timely manner.Business Response

In response to this,
Customer Boval has received all contracted work and then some. His lack of receiving a CO (certificate of Occupancy is due to his refusal to comply with the county requirements with regards to his existing structures, being removed & in no way related to any contracting activity by Family Dream Homes.
************** has had the factory who builds the home & executes the warranty out to visit the home & has been advised that the home is within what they consider to be adequate tolerances. ************** was given direct lines of contact to the manager of the service factory, who, as of our last conversation he has refused to contact.
In any construction project there are delays & issues with sub-contractors, weather etc. & we have worked to resolve these as quickly as possible at our cost.
All remaining issues are purely cosmetic & will be addressed within the allotted time frame for cosmetic damage/issues which is 1 year from the customer taking possession of the home.
Thank you,
*******************

In November of 2021 we bought a ******* home from Family Dream Homes. When we purchased the home, they told us it would take 6 months to install on our property in Fort Pierce Fl. After waiting 5 months & not hearing from them, we contacted them. We were told " O sorry the manager handling your case had some medical issue's but we have someone different working on it now" Ok fine now back & forth trying to get permits. Which they told us they would handle & be no problem. So finally in December of 2022 they tell us to get ready, right after New Years the house will be coming. Ok than on Jan 7th Elizabeth calls to tell us " O were sorry but when we checked on the house it appears to have hurricane damage from the storms of Sept & Oct of 2022 that they JUST discovered" So now we have to get you a new house!!! It will only take 60 days. Sure than 60 days go by & I call once again. This time Doug tells me it will be the middle of March. I call the beginning of March now it the 28th of March. Ok I called yesterday- NO ANSWER to my texts or CALLS. Today Elizabeth calls & says it is now pushed to April 11th!! I really just want the house that we have paid for installed on my property. We have missed out on 3 vacations trips waiting for this house & now my mom is living in a 5th wheeler on my property INSTEAD of a BRAND NEW ******* HOME we bought for her. PLEASE HELP!!!!Business Response

Dear Better Business Bureau,
We understand Mrs. *****s frustration. The two things that slowed us down are permits and factory
backlogs. We dropped the ball on getting permits. Unfortunately, during the last few hurricanes, the
home got wet on the inside. I offered Mrs. **** a few different options to rectify this: ?x the home that
got wet or order a new home, at no additional cost to her, or refund her money. She chose to order a
new home. The home has been ordered and is scheduled for delivery on April 24"‘, 2023.

Dear Better Business Bureau,
We understand Mrs. ***** frustration. The home was delivered to our location here in Christmas, FL
on April 24"‘, 2023. The home was delivered to the property on April 26'", 2023. The dirt pad has been
laid and the home has been staged. The earliest we were able to schedule the mobile home installation
is May 29th , 2023. We are actively working with another installer to get this home set sooner. We
understand Mrs. ****'s frustration and have been in contact with Mr. **** to make aware of this.
Unfortunately, while we tried to push to get this home as early as we could, the quote was not ?nalized
until Mid January. We have no control over the factory or contractor delays, but we are trying to rectify
this as quickly and efficiently as possible.

I am rejecting this response because: we have called multiple times & no one has gotten back to us since the house was delivered in 2 pieces on 4/26/23. All Elizabeth told my husband was Randy was back in the hospital and didn't know when anyone would finish the job. I'm tired of there excuses. We ordered the house in November of 2021. Not January of 2023. Now we have 2 pieces, open to the elements & no one knows when they will finish the job!!!! We are still paying rent on a storage unit & a place for my mom!!!!
Sincerely,
