It's no wonder this company is going out of business. Their processes and SOPs are so out of date. It's unreal. A simple transaction to buy an electronic gift card turns into a four and a half hour experience trying to get my money back. Cancel the order for absolutely no reason and now I have to wait for PayPal to refund me. Absolutely unacceptable. So instead of buying a $500 gift card to buy a chair in store but online first. Now I spent $750 because I had to make it down payment on PayPal to do the pay in 4. All other retailers except pay I'm 4 for installments And so should office Depot there really are behind in the times not only in their technology but also in there business ethics as a whole. I won't be buying from them again everOffice Depot, Inc.

I went from Downtown **********, **, to St. ******** to buy a 4 Drawer file cabinet, which was listed and in store and in 20 min. I could have it, at the store. Total there and back about 20 miles.They didn't have any, and the wouldn't sell the display model.Item ****** 4 drawer File Cabinet for $169.99.Enough said. I won't go back again.Office Depot, Inc.

Dear BBB,
Thank you for forwarding our customer complaint. I contacted Mr Davis, via email and apologized for the his recent expereince instore. However, our stores do not sell their displays because anything on display that is still being sold can be ordered for delivery by the store.
As a gesture of customer service I issued an Office Depot E-Gift . This issue has been resolved on my end.

Office Depot furniture chair-Office Depot chair is NOT of good quality !!..$100+ Office Depot chair -My $150-200.oo Office Depot chair is NOT of good quality !!..As 2 of the chairbase casters broke.. and of course they offer NO replacement parts ..[OR compensate in ANY way for a replacement chair !)..So their advise is to dispose of this chair..Thats sad ! ..The age of disposable furniture !So their answer is TO TRASH my $100 Office Depot chair ,.. AND GIVE THEM ANOTHER $2-300 TO BUY ANOTHER $100 Office Depot chair THAT IS ALSO MADE OF JUST PLAIN OLD PLASTIC AND WILL ALSO BREAK AGAIN !!Id Hate to be forced to trash this $100 Office Depot chair (& to be forced to buy another .. to start all over again w/ another] ..just b/c of not being able to replace 1 part !So WHY would I ever WANT TO REPEAT THAT SAME MISTAKE AGAIN ??!Office Depot, Inc.

Dear BBB,
Thank you for forwarding our customer's complaint. We worked with our Private Brand Engineering team to help identify the chair Mr. ******* purchased that has become defective. Mr. ******* did not have a receipt. We are very sorry that the chair has become defective but since we don't have proof of purchase, and the chair might be one that is no longer sold by Office Depot, we are unable to order a defective part.
We sent Mr. ******* a $40 gift card, as a gesture of customer service. We do hope Mr. ******* will continue to shop with Office Depot.

Went to my local Office Depot #**** in N ************************* ***** on Thursday 6/23 at 7:20pm. The store closed at 8pm. There were hardly any customers in the store - not busy at all. waited 10 minutes at the print/copy center for someone to help, even though the associates behind the desk looked over at me several times while standing near me. He finally asked me if he could help. I told him I needed a spiral binding on 4 10-page 8x11 items. He looked at them, started to ring me up, then suddenly stopped and said he couldnt do it because they closed in 25 minutes. He was doing nothing at all, nothing ahead of me and no customers. I asked if they would be ready in the ************ said no. There was no store mgmt available to escalate to. I watched for a few minutes as he just stood at the counter, I guess waiting until the store closed Absolutely the worst and laziest person I have encountered.I checked for another local store on my phone, drove 10 minutes to store #**** in ******. At about 10 minutes to close, the supervisor told me Oh sure - itll just take 5 minutes.. She completed this right away, added my coupon and had me on my way before they closed. Awesome and thank you.Office Depot, Inc.

After patiently waiting for 2 weeks to receive furniture purchased from Officedepot, I decided to try to track down my order. After at least an hour on hold this morning, no one ever responded. This afternoon we tried to track down the furniture at the local Office Depot. *******, the sales associate, did his best to help us to no avail. After sitting in the office furniture section for nearly two hours on hold (and couple of loud outbursts from me in the store), we discovered that @Officedepot never shipped the order. The carrier says they never received it and OfficeDepot says it’s been delivered. All in all basically OfficeDepot said they are doing nothing about the situation. If we are still unsatisfied we are welcome to call back and be placed on hold for two more hours. Stay far, far, far away from OfficeDepotOffice Depot, Inc.

I signed up for auto ink refill in 2019 however, Office Depot was unable to refill those orders because either no supplies or unable to operate because of the Covid 19 quarantine. Office Depot cancelled its own refill order.Now almost 3 years later Office Depot wants to restart the auto ink refill.Number one, I no longer use the cartridge being sent. Two, Office Depot failed its part of the agreement.No!***************************Office Depot, Inc.

1 star*********************************************************************************************, I was there to have a printing job done, simple job, I waited In line, I couldn't use there self service printers, because I needed a JPEG format and as far as I know, those printers do not have a option to change foremats from PDF. As I reached my way up to the counter, a woman popped in and butted I front of me, complaining her business card was done wrong, They actually allowed Her to **** in front of the line and work on her problem, very rude. complained about it and gave them a bad reveiw, and then, a Manager called me on my home phone, and tried to scold for the bad reveiw, I wrote, I'm sorry but, I will not allow this behavior. a grow man, calling my phone and yelling and screaming at me (a Retired senior citizen). Shame on Office Depot, I beleive this man needs a psychiatric evaluation, how dare you people call my phone and talk like your insane. Office Depot failed to deliver as promised. I tried to order a desk and file cabinet on line on 3 May. It was showing a delivery date of 10 May. Their **************** did not get the order placed until 4 May and the earliest delivery date was 18 May. They could not make it sooner. The website did not update the delivery status as expected. I called them on 18 May early AM and was assured delivery would be made today (18th). I was contacted by the delivery agent at **** that the delivery would occur on the 19th. Office Depot has no proposed solution and takes no responsibility. You can not depend on this company to follow through on their word.Office Depot, Inc.
