Cancelled a land trip six months out. They will not refund my $600 per person, $1,200 deposit for any reason. They know someone else will fill the two spaces or I might want to rebook another date/trip. I cancelled well in advance but they are only interested in keeping the deposit. Beware and maybe choose another tour company.

October 31, 2023 Dear **** ********  I am sorry to learn that you are disappointed with Tauck’s cancellation policy. I have listened to and reviewed in detail the call that took place on August 21, 2023 at approximately 2:45 PM. During this call, you reserved two spots with a departure date of April 28, 2024 on our Week in ****** * ***** itinerary. During this call, Tauck’s agent explained that you would have to make a deposit within 3 days. The agent advised, “when you put down your deposit, you will have 9 days from that day to call in and cancel, and you would get a full refund of your deposit.” The agent then further explains that if you should decide to cancel after the 10th day, you would lose your deposit. She then also informs you that you would have 9 days from the deposit date to add Tauck’s Protection Plan in order for any pre-existing condition to be covered. On August 24, 2023, you contacted Tauck and placed your deposit of $600 per person. You declined Tauck’s Protection Plan. On October 28, you called Tauck to cancel your reservation. The agent explained that the cancellation penalty would be the deposit of $600 per person. You shared that you were not made aware of the cancellation policy. Respectfully, I must disagree with you as Tauck’s cancellation policy was reviewed with you during your call of August 21. During your call on 10/28, Tauck did also offer to transfer your booking and you were not interested in transferring the reservation to another date and/or occupancy. After thorough review, I feel confident that Tauck did inform you correctly of our cancellation policy.

Paid deposit for trip to *********** next summer, Then just last week, (end of August) wanted to get deposit back. Was told by Tauck that deposit was not refundable, Tauck said that when deposit was made last May, 2023 over a a year till trip, I was informed I would have ten days from that date May,2023 to cancel. This fact was not made clear at that time. So, want to warn future guests of Tauck to make absolutely sure that the trip you put deposit on is one hundred percent the one you want to go on or you lose the entire deposit if you cancel after 10 days after deposit is made. Have traveled quite a bit and no other Cruise line or tour companies have such stringent policies with no forgiveness for any reason.

Dear *** ****** * apologize that you feel you were not informed clearly about our cancelation policy. I have taken the time to review your booking in detail and listen to the call. On March 27, 2023 at approximately 3:00 PM, **** *** ** ***** contacted Tauck to inquire about the wait list that she was on for our *********** journey with a departure date of July 18, 2024. It was shared during that call that ***. ** ***** was currently on vacation with you. After much discussion with our Reservation Sales Counselor, it was decided among all of you to book the July 19 departure date. During that call, it was explained in detail to ***. ** ***** who then repeated the information. The information shared from our agent to ***. ** *****, then repeated out loud by ***. ** ***** included: This departure was not yet priced and the itinerary was not yet finalized. Around the end of April, the price and itinerary would be finalized and you would then have 14 days from that date to cancel for a full refund. This information was repeated several times. Tauck’s agent also shared that you had the option to purchase Tauck’s Guest Protection Plan during this time and it would cover pre-existing conditions. ***. ** ***** decided to purchase the plan and you decided to wait. It was shared by our agent and again repeated by ***. ** ***** to you that if you decide to cancel within 14 days of the finalized pricing, you would be entitled to a full refund. After the 14 days, ***. ** ***** would lose the cost of the Protection Plan, but the deposit would be refunded. Without the protection plan, after 14 days – the deposit would be forfeited. You also asked it during this call, if your travel advisor could pick up the booking and our agent clearly stated yes. Your travel advisor, ***. Margaret K*** on March 28, 2023, picked up your reservation. I have also attached (3) financial summaries that were sent to your travel advisor where our policy is also clearly written as well as instruct guests to utilize our website or My Account for more information. Your reservation was cancelled on August 24, 2023 and therefore your deposited was forfeited.

First time Tuack Tour, Essence of *****. It will be my last. Spent more than 45k and they handled flight booking. They booked international layover outbound with 40 min window. Not surprisingly my bags, clothes and medicine didn't arrive for 30 hours. They acknowledged their fault in email but Guest Relations tone deaf. They offered small cash refund and future credit on next tour. Won't be a "next tour ". It was once a great brand but they have lost their feel for customer retention. If you use them, book your own travel and save money and aggravation.
