Date of Fire alarm installation: 6/14/2024 Scope of work: 2 fire alarm/horn strobes to be installed in a medical office as per the town permit and specs submitted by the fire alarm company. Fire alarm company installed 2 devices that only flash and do not make any sounds. I paid for an electrician to run wiring for the the two devices and they type of wire was stipulated by the fire alarm company prior to the electrician doing the work. The day the fire alarm company came out to install the devices, the electrician was on site and the fire alarm company never mentioned that the wires need to be different. Now the fire alarm company wants to run different wiring to accommodate the sound and replace the wrong devices they installed with one that has sound. They want me to pay the electrician to come out again and run new wires and they will correct their mistake by replacing the existing wrong devices they installed originally with what they should have installed (according to the specs they sent prior to installment). When I explained to the owner Mike Salomone, that I just paid the electrician and I should not have to pay him a second time for a mistake that they should have caught when they were out there installing the device and mention it to me or the onsite electrician, he refused to hear me out or accept responsibility for this error. I am tied to using this company as this is an office building and they service the entire building, please advise on how we can resolve this. Amount paid: $1,256 in addition to the $1300 paid to the electrician and the price of the permit in the town.

    Business Response

    Date: 07/16/2024

This complaint was agreed to be rescinded in that the customer was returned $1,000 towards the work.  The balance was related to parts that we supplied and agreed to.  Also, we provided labor free of charge that we should have been compensated.  This was implemented and mutually agreed to by both parties.  Essentially, we participated in this effort given the relationship with other parties involved with the facility..
