  I have to give a huge shoutout to Associated Refuse, and the owner Pat. Our neighbor has a long and narrow driveway that runs parallel to ours and continues past our house. Every Monday morning at approximately 4am, Associated Refuse would back up their driveway, lights flashing and backup warning beeping all the way up to the neighbor’s house. This would wake up my school age children hours before they had to get up for school and cause them to start the school week exhausted. We tried talking with the neighbors, explaining the situation and asking if they could bring their garbage bins to the road to avoid the garbage truck having to back up their driveway. The neighbors were unwilling to work out a solution with us, so in desperation I called Associated Refuse and spoke with the owner, Pat. Pat was extremely sympathetic to our situation and promised he would switch the pickup time to later in the day. True to his word, the following Monday the garbage truck didn’t back up the neighbors driveway until after 8:30. Words can’t properly convey how grateful I am that Pat would be so thoughtful and kind. To be fully transparent, we aren’t even customers. Pat truly knows what it means to be a good neighbor and give back to the community. This is a company and an owner with a heart.

  They are horrible!!! The owner Pat is a ****** ***** and cancelled my service because I questioned why he changed my pick up time without informing me. He told me, my family and I are not worth losing his business for because ******* Police Department and the First selectman of ******* told him to change our pick up time because the racist neighbors ***** *** ******* ****** ** ** **** **** **** ** ***** **** ** has a problem with it. He is a rude, condescending ********** that patronized and insulted me then told me to find another garbage pick up if I don’t like what they are doing after already taking my money for the upcoming quarter.

  We were serving this customer at their garage in a shared driveway. We were arriving very early in the morning approximately 4:30-5:00 am. The neighbor of the shared driveway contacted our company to ask if we can arrive later in the day as they have school children whose sleep was being disrupted. The backup alarm and the headlights caused much concern. We changed the pickup time to approximately 8:30 am on the same day. The customer called to ask why. I explained that we were causing harm to the neighbor's children. Natasha would not accept that explanation. I told her we do not want to get into a dispute with her neighbor as well as using our company to cause harm to their neighbor. I stated the dispute with their neighbor is their problem not ours. I did not want our company to be weaponized against the neighbor. The husband got on the phone and started swearing at me with "F" bombs stating that he is a paying customer and demanded we do as we are told. At that point I told him were done and he should use another company. We will refund the difference of the quarterly bill as they were on a quarterly bill in advance with an auto-pay option. Subsequently, the neighbor who is not our customer posted a very positive review of our company on Google. We have been serving the folks of Newtown for over 41 years. We have been named "Business of the Year" twice. We are very well respected. Lastly, I did not know the race of this customer. Thanks.
