Over a year ago, I required a structural engineer to draw some plans for a permit that was required by my city, *********, *******, for an after the fact permit for a room addition and kitchen, that were added to my home before I purchased the house. I hired Level Engineering and one of their local engineers, ****** ************. This has been the worst experience of my life. He takes weeks, even months, to respond to a simple yes/no question. Getting him to finally draw the plans took even longer. I already paid (over $3000) for this, or I would have gone elsewhere long ago. My contractor has been trying to get a hold of him for months now and still nothing. He needs to change the plans, and I have heard nothing for weeks/months. I really wish this company, and this individual, would do their job, they have already been paid. I am being fined $5,000 per day by the city for this violation, and Level Engineering is responsible for most of that (as of right now, I owe at least $400,000 in fines, which there is no way I can pay. This is definitely the worst experience of my life dealing with someone who said they would do a job, and is doing absolutely nothing.Business Response

We appreciate the opportunity to respond to your concerns. Our records show that the work was completed by our engineer over a year ago. We understand you are experiencing issues with the city, but it is important to note that these concerns do not relate to the quality or completion of our work. That being said, we acknowledge the challenges you are facing and are committed to assisting you in addressing these issues.
This complaint marks the first time we have received communication from you regarding this matter. Our customer service team is available Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., via phone, email, and text. We are dedicated to being responsive and accessible, and we have no records of prior contact from you.
Upon receiving this complaint, we promptly reached out to our engineer, who contacted you the very same day to discuss the situation. We remain fully committed to supporting you and facilitating any necessary communication with our engineer to help resolve the matter.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly for further assistance. We are here to help in any way we can.

This was the first time we have ever heard from this client in over a year.
We did have the engineer call immediately. But our work was completed over a year ago. We are still here for customer service help in email, phone and text message to bridge any communication gaps.
Thank you,
******* Barnett

I am rejecting this response because:I cannot seem to get a hold of this company. Every time I call there is no answer. The engineer that has supposedly finished the job, is impossible to reach and takes months (no exaggeration) to return a call or text. My contractor asked for a few changes in the plans and the engineer (****** ************) is unresponsive and not being cooperative at all.

I hired Steven N***** with Level Engineering to perform a structural evaluation of the foundation of my home to rebuild my home after a partial fire. I paid Level Engineering for the evaluation in full in March 2022. On 9/23/22, I requested the electronic copy I purchased but had not received it yet. Steven ignored my request. I called the office personnel and they stated that there was NOT an electronic copy in my file. I then tried to call the other contacts I had with Level Engineering, which were Isaiah Justice, Architect, and Zachariah B******, Construction Design, they also IGNORED my requests. I then showed up at their brick-and-mortar building in Loveland to request the report face-to-face from the president, Scott Z*** on 9/26/22, he refused to give me the report, so I refused to leave without the report I paid for. He called the police to have me removed, which was very traumatic. To this date 10/10/22, I have not received my simple report, why? Scott Z*** called me on 9/30/22 stating he would get together with the engineer, Steven N*****, and get the report to me for an additional $1,200. The total price for this simple report totals $3,825. Today 10/10/22 at 10 am, I called the office personnel Kristen and Amy to find out the status of the report. There was NO answer to my calls so I left a message to return my call, again I was IGNORED by Kristen and Amy and NO ONE has returned my call as of 10/10/22 at 4:30 pm.Business Response

As it is part of our company mission to solve engineering problems for constituencies that typically are overlooked by most firms, we feel great about the work we did for **, and we are happy to have been of service.
We are confident that the BBB is concerned with facts being correct in reviews, therefore almost none of the statements made by ** are accurate: Our work was completed with this client over 7 months ago. Recently, on a Friday, ** called our offices over 12 times in one day and verbally harassed our team - demanding “the report” she was confident she had paid for and did not receive (but now needed - today). To be clear - this “foundation report” did not exist, was not requested nor paid for - it wasn’t any of the 4 services we contracted for and completed 7 months ago.
After she verbally harassed our staff, we let her know we would continue to help her, but it would have to be via email (this was to protect our team from verbal abuse). We had difficulty determining what she needed, why and how we could help her get it - as she just repeated her demands. On the following Monday she showed up at our offices, escalating the harassment and refusing to leave our offices - until we called the police (we have filed charges).
While we understand she felt ignored, it is important to know that this entire situation unfolded in 1.5 business days - in this time frame our team interacted with her on 9 different occasions. We are fully aware, now, why this behavior occurred and while we understand her stress, it does not justify treating our team as she did.Customer Answer

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:Evidence was submitted exhibiting my honesty. I do not accept Level Engineering's rebuttal to my complaint, as they have not submitted to the BBB or to myself the evidence and/or testimony that the "foundation report" was not requested nor paid for over 8 months ago.
Also evidence has not been delivered proving that the Level Engineering team interacted with me on 9 different occasions before I appeared at their brick and mortar building. Nor have they delivered evidence that they are attempted to resolve my complaint before or after the creation of this complaint with the BBB.
Furthermore, I still have not received the "report" and that is the intention of the BBB complaint.
Otherwise, our team interacted with her on 9 different occasions. we feel great about the work we did for **, and we are happy to have been of service.
This is pretty ridiculous, that the owners of Level Engineering are so petty, to refuse to deliver a simple document.

I have taken some time to upload the documentation backing our statements regarding this issue.
Please see:
Exhibit A & B: Inaccuracy #1 Two different emails from ** confirming that she did NOT want (nor did she pay for) a Foundation Report. *While she says she paid for it, you will not find any receipt - it doesn’t exist.
Inaccuracy #2 “I’m still waiting on the report” This is just silly. She no longer owns the property, and we are in communication with the Distressed Properties wholesaler team as well as the new owner.
Exhibit C: Inaccurate statement #3: In her review, ** said: “The total price for this simple report totals $3,825”. NOT TRUE:
-The Fees totalling $3,825 are:
-Architectural Services For New Home ($1780) - completed 7 months ago
-Structural Design For New Home ($2625) - completed 7 months ago
-We would not characterize a New Home Structural Design as “Simple”- and it is a “Design” not a “Report”.Exhibit D: Inaccuracy #4: I hired Steven N***** with Level Engineering to perform a structural evaluation of the foundation of my home to rebuild my home after a fire.
-The Evaluation (11/30/21) was to inspect a partially burned home and 3 steel storage containers (this included inspecting the foundation).
-During this inspection, ** requested a Report for the 3 steel storage containers (Boulder Country had required this) certifying they could withstand the snow and wind load. This was paid for and completed.
-Referring back to Exhibit A, she hired us to complete architectural and structural plans for rebuilding her home.
-None of this included a Foundation Report (the email exhibit refer to WHY a Foundation Report was not appropriate at that time (remember, this was many months ago)Lastly, this documentation does not detail the level of harassment our team faced in the 1.5-2 days of communicating with ** (this, months after work was completed). When someone continues to belittle and harass our staff - who was trying to help, but were confused (of course, she continued to demand something that didn’t exist) and working to figure out what and how to help her -at some point, we draw the line. We have filed harassment charges and they are currently being investigated: 22-65759 (failure to leave premises) and Harassment 22-8329.
