On 3/6/2024 I made a reservation for an RV spot to stay at La Plata County Fairgrounds in Durango, CO. I paid the full amount of $85.84 for a 3 night stay for May 18 to 21 (3 nights), payment and reservation were done over the phone. I used my Mastercard and spoke with ****** R*******, Senior Administrative Assistant. Transaction ID: ********** Item Reference: ********* My name on the payment: ***** * ****** On May 7th I received a voicemail message from ****** apologizing that my reservation needed to be canceled due to a change in their calendar. A Fiesta Carnival would be setting up during the dates we had reserved and that they would need the space in the RV Park section for the carnival. She stated that she would be issuing a full refund on that day. In the days surrounding this, the credit card I used for this reservation had closed. I called to let ****** know this and she was unable to issue the refund on another card. She said she would need to forward the information to another department (maybe the finance department?) to have a check made out and mailed to my home. Since May 7th I have called and left voicemails at least 5 times and emailed her directly on June 18th without any response back. In the end I not only had to scramble to find another location to stay those days, but now have spent a good amount of time trying to resolve getting my money back from a scheduling conflict on their end. There must have been more than an 11 day notice that a carnival was coming to town.

I wanted to update you on this dispute. There was a time frame given from La Plata County Fairgrounds that we would receive payment in the mail, and I believe the date was December 13th. We have not heard from them or received any payment as of yet. I believe that deadline was given by the business (La Plata County Fairgrounds), if I’m not mistaken. Is there any -next step- in the process to move forward? Thank you for your help with this.
