Huge domains ****** domain names from people at the last minute through auction services. They purchased my name for less than $200 and are now offering to sell it back to me for $10,000. What theyre doing should be illegal. Its MY name. They have no use for it. I dont make $10,000/year. Theyre insane. Theres no one else with my name interested in that domain. Theyre not offering service to anyone. Theyre thieves and crooks and what theyre doing is wrong.Business Response

The complainant is correct, *************** acquired the domain ********************** by winning a GoDaddy auction for the domain in April 2022, following all guidelines of GoDaddy auctions and ********* rules for domains.
The complainant sent us one email in August 2022 arguing that she disagreed with our valuation for the domain and implying that we won the auction through nefarious means. She made no offer for the domain, nor asked to negotiate the price of the domain, so we considered the matter closed.
She also stated that she had been waiting for the domain to become available through auction for many years, so as far as we can see she has no ownership claim to the domain, she just disagrees with the price we have listed for the domain.
We are willing to discuss the domain with the complainant further, but we cannot guarantee we will come up with a solution that satisfies all parties. They can reach us by emailing ************************************Initial Complaint

Huge Domains is a company in charge of Website names/ Web hosting. They claim to be providing the public a service by selling website domains to those looking to establish a business or website of any kind. Huge Domains states on their own website that they have brandable names, competitive prices, and excellent service. It is true that the company has brandable names as they are looking to sell more than 4 million domains in their current collection, but having competitive prices and excellent service hasnt just been demonstrated false to me but also to a lot of people, as from what I can tell online. People have discovered the company cybersquats website names and essentially steals domains of little value from people who have forgotten to renew them, and priced them to thousands of dollars without budging. This should all be illegal, yet it goes on. The issue I present is that the company should be able to be contacted. Yet their address according to ****** is ************************************. This is in the center of a random road in *******. Having a false business address is not legal, as people online have cited their scams from the company. Therefore I checked the website address and sure enough it claims to be at ********************************. However this appears to be an abandoned building containing graffiti on the outside. This seriously needs to be looked into therefore I turned to the BBB.Business Response

HugeDomains.com is an aftermarket reseller of domains and we acquire our domains when they are released to the public or offered for auction through platforms such as GoDaddy and then we offer them for resale. HugeDomains.com follows all guidelines as set by ICANN with domain names we acquire and own.
As for the dispute over our contact information, our office is in fact located at ************************************ as was reported by the complainant. Anyone can contact us by calling ************ or emailing ********************* which are also both published on our website. We are not sure why the Florida address is coming up on the ****** Business profile, someone clearly changed it on ****** and we have reported this issue to ****** which is not controlled by our company.
If the complainant is looking to discuss a specific domain we will be more than happy to talk to them, but we cant guarantee we will be able to come to any agreement given the generic and false arguments made in their complaint.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However, that is only because what this company is getting away with is nothing I can interfere with given the current status of laws and cyber rules. I would like to share a few other quotes from people who have had my same struggles with this company.
Huge Domains are NOT to be trusted. I have bought and sold domains for internet projects for over 20 years now. I was mid negotiations on a domain that was listed for $2600 USD and mid-negotiation they jacked the price up to $9000 USD. Their one-line email was This is the price now. No negotiations. Is that negotiating in good faith?
HD scrapes up hundreds of expiring domains weekly with automated software running from many computers. Good luck getting more than a 5% discount on any domain from their overpriced inventory. Don't overpay, just find an alternate domain.
The thing is the domains they hold are mostly ***, and they should not be allowed to purchase all the domains and bribe people for them. Total corporate greed. I held a domain, these slugs called and called wanting to get it for less than $100 dollars. My domain was lost due to a credit card being lost and the number changed so it wasn't auto renewed. They ended up getting it, now they want $2500 to buy it back. I wish the worst for corps and people like this
Sincerely,
***********************Initial Complaint

HugeDomains.com acquired the domain in March 2022, through the GoDaddy auctions platform. HugeDomains has no knowledge of why the domain was placed up for auction or have any information on previous owners of the domain. The complainant will need to discuss the how and why this domain was placed up for auction in March 2022 with GoDaddy.

It appears the customer didnt renew the domain during its renewal grace ****** or its redemption grace ****** after it expired in when it came ** for its annual renewal in October 2023 and was released back to the public.

I have a highly coveted and sought after Domain Name (valued over $2000) that I have been struggling to pay due to recent reduction in available work at my workplace. I hope I am wrong, but it almost seems like HugeDomains has been trying to cause me to lose it when I am on their final leg of payment. (I paid $1000 out of the $1200-ish). I told them I could only afford a partial payment and called on Friday to make it. Their systems were down all day. It is Monday, now and several calls, voicemails, and emails later they are not picking up my calls. If I do not make a payment today, my domain will be up for sale again. Yet, they are not responding to any of my calls or voicemails.Business Response

The complainant is currently behind in payments on her domain purchase. On Friday, as the complainant indicated we were having some internal issues preventing us from taking phone calls, so she couldn't reach us. However, this morning we were able to reach out to her and help her make-up one payment and we believe the current issue is resolved.Initial Complaint

Dear ***/*****,I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against HugeDomains.com, a domain provider based in your jurisdiction.I had entered into a two-year payment plan agreement with HugeDomains.com for the domain name littermap.com, paying a monthly fee of $66.47. This plan amounted to a total price of $1,600, of which I have paid all but the last installment. Unfortunately, despite having sufficient funds in my account, I was informed that the payment for the 24th month had not gone through. I tried to rectify this issue immediately by attempting to pay through other means, but was not provided with any alternative options on their website. To my utter dismay, two weeks after this incident, I received an email stating that my contract had been canceled and that I no longer own the domain. This happened despite the fact that I only owed $66.47, the final installment of my $1,600 payment plan. I was also informed that I am unable to purchase the domain anymore. The domain in question, littermap.com, is not just a business investment for me. It's the cornerstone of an environmental initiative focused on cleaning up our streets and environment. This application has been instrumental in the removal of over 1.5 million pieces of trash from ***************** environment. This abrupt and unexpected cancellation of my contract, without clear just cause or sufficient opportunity to resolve the alleged payment issue, has not only disrupted my work but also impacted my altruistic effort towards a cleaner environment.I kindly request the intervention of the Better Business Bureau in this matter. I hope that with your assistance, this issue can be resolved amicably, and I can continue with my environmental cleanup efforts.Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your prompt response.*********,***********************Business Response

Good afternoon,
As far as we can tell the customer never contacted us directly regarding his payment. Whenever a payment plan is cancelled we do send an email with a payoff balance link, that allows the customer to payoff the balance 30 days after the plan has been cancelled. It appears the customer used the link earlier today, has paid off the domain, and taken full possession of the domain.
We consider the issue resolved, but are open to further discussion if there are still issues. We do recommend customers call or email HugeDomains.com if they have any questions about their payment plans or purchases.Customer Answer

I am pleased to inform you that after contacting HugeDomains.com via phone this morning, they allowed me to pay my final monthly installment and regain ownership of the domain littermap.com as per our initial contract. I am grateful for their cooperation in this matter and consider my personal issue resolved.
However, I feel it is my duty to inform you that during this ordeal, I noticed some potentially problematic behavior on their part which could affect other customers. This morning, before I was able to finalize my payment, the domain littermap.com was temporarily put back on the free market. This means that during this window, any other party could have potentially purchased the domain, despite my ongoing payment plan and commitment to the project it supports.
Moreover, I have documented proof in the form of screen recordings demonstrating that their website's payment processing links were not functional. This malfunction could potentially lead to other customers being unable to fulfill their payment obligations, resulting in unjust contract terminations.
While I am relieved that my personal issue was resolved, I am concerned that these practices might constitute predatory behavior and potentially disingenuous activity on their part. I believe it is important to bring these issues to your attention to prevent potential harm to other consumers.
I thank you once again for your support in this matter, and I trust that you will address these concerns with the appropriate seriousness and diligence.Initial Complaint

HugeDomains purchased by father's domain name (signsbydan.com) after it expired and he had no way of renewing it. His web developer was convicted of a crime and was imprisoned before he could transfer ownership of the domain to us and are now cybersquatting on it behind a nearly $6000 pay wall. My dad spent thirty years building his business and the value of his brand and HugeDomains has essentially stole that from him. I fully expect their legal team to post a canned message about how they legally own the domain. I do not contest the legal ownership. However, consumers have a right to know that HugeDomains business model is ethically questionable at best and all business with them should be avoided at all costs.Business Response

HugeDomains.com is an after-market reseller of .com and .net domain names which we acquire when they are released to marketplace following the ICANN.org Domain Lifecycle guidelines (https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/gtld-lifecycle-2012-02-25-en) As part of the process HugeDomains.com doesnt get any historical information about the domains we acquire, nor are we involved in the circumstances that led to the domain being released to the public.
The complainant contacted us shortly after we acquired the domain through the standard process and made an offer on the domain. We counter-offered and didnt hear back from the complainant until now. The complainant is not a customer of HugeDomains, this dispute is strictly over the value of the domain. We are willing to continue the discussions for the domain if the complainant is open to the discussion, but we believe the gap between our relative perceived value of the domain may still be too far apart to come to a resolution.
