    We are a startup company************ that paid a software development company (SDI Inc.) in ********** to make our app. While the app was in development, the owner of the business offered to do marketing for us to get our first customers. He asked for ***** upfront and promised to deliver results in 1.5 months. On Dec 21, 2020 we paid him in full. 7 months later and after numerous inquiries from us, he said that he wasn't able to deliver according to our contract. We asked for a full refund of our money but he refused. Eventually, after repeating our request many times, he agreed to give us half the money ******* on Aug 2, 2021. He asked for an address to send us a check. This is from the email he sent us: "We cannot provide a full refund but as an exception and to close this - We will provide a refund of 50% and cancel the contract." All communications mentioned above were through email. On June 24, 2022, we emailed him the address to mail the check. He didn't respond. We've sent 3 more emails ever since demanding the 50% of our money back ******** but he just ignores them. We're very frustrated and don't know what to do anymore. We'd appreciate your help. Her real name is different from the one that she is using to communicate, she did not respond to our emails for almost a year and recently called our office using a fake name ******** She contacted us stating that she had failed to attract customers to her app and needed help in responding to a Debt collections notice since she had reneged on another company's contract. We completed the agreed tasks as per the contract but she kept escalating her demands beyond the scope of the contract. We politely declined to work further and sent a refund which she has received prior to filing this complaint. We have a Non-Disclosure agreement and full details in emails, phone recordings and Web meeting recordings. We wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors.
