June 3, 2022:As I pulled up to my work I got out of my truck and saw my truck was leaking oil. I called **** at Ricks Machine Shop and told him the type of truck I have and described the issue. **** told me to bring it in. I paid the $150 to tow the truck to his shop. When I dropped it off, it only had an oil leak, zero other issues.Over the next 10 weeks I called Ricks Machine shop over 37 times to try to get information on the issue, a price or quote, timeline, anything. I never received a single incoming phone call from this shop or any of the mechanics. The only information I'd ever get from this shop was to "call back later today, call back tomorrow, the mechanic isn't in." One time I called and they told me they didn't have a mechanic that could work on my truck until next week. Another time I called they told me they confused me and my truck with another customer and had no idea what the status was on my truck. I showed up twice over the 10 weeks just to find the same mechanic working on my truck mentioned he really didnt know what he was doing and hated these trucks. After 10 weeks of myself asking dozens of times what work is being done and how much is this going to be, they finally tell me its finished. I never saw or signed anything that showed me the potential work or estimates / quote finished or hourly rate, nothing.August 12, 2022 I get dropped off at Ricks machine shop and they hit me with a bill of $2,756.80 They tell me now I have a check engine light on (which wasn't there before I dropped it off) and there is nothing they can do about it. They tried to charge me $300+ for 2 batteries that were fine when the truck was dropped off, they must have let them die. And they tell me I might need to bring it back in, that it was good enough to drive now. I ask what that means and that this truck is my daily driver. **** says it should be good."See only receipt attached. I can provide a call log that shows I didn't receive one call from them.
