JLB purchased Mathieu Perron H&C we did business with in the past. Unfortunately we expected similar exceptional service. Don't be fooled JLB has no work ethics, transparency accountability or credibility. We needed a new pilot on our gas stove and were provided a verbal estimate of $417 of which $242 was for parts. We agreed to proceed with the service. Our stove was initially propane, converted to natural gas in 2009. On a 2nd visit the technician and "helper"came with a pilot assembly kit for a propane stove. A 3rd visit with "helper" was done several weeks later with the correct part. The technician required a heat source to get the stove going, while both JLB employees sat in our living room, my husband went out to get a torch to complete the task. We received a bill for $1,250.00 far from the initial estimate. They charged $105 for service call, $90 for actual service call, $49.50 travel charge. With the cost of parts we are already over the estimate. $390 was charged for the useless visit. The parts were as stated. The actual installation was $180 and $49.50 travel charge. All of these extra charges absolutely lack transparency. The owner **** ********** said the Embridge inspection sticker signed by a certified gas technician in 2009 does not mean the stove was converted to natural gas and the fact that we advised of the conversion is not good enough either. He takes no accountability for their errors. A difficult negotiation was completed to reduce the bill. . I got 2 different answers on warranties. I asked they be added to the bill with part numbers. The owner told me to pay the bill and he would then send it in writting. Well that is not how it works! In addition ********* ******* in charge of billing sent us emails with the bill every day from feb 3rd to 12th. We were not in arrears for payment clear harassment. She also posted the positive review on the site No integrity! STAY AWAY.
