I found this business Chris and Shayne's general contracting on ****** - and texted and called them for snow removal service at my house/company address. I signed a contract and paid them $300 via etransfer on 30 Jan 2023, but I had to cancel the contract due to the following reasons: 1. No invoice 2 days after payment, which is a very basic requirement that can be easily fulfilled via email. The business promised to provide invoice within 30 min and did provide an invoice for the $300 I paid. They claim to have emailed it multiple times, but somehow it never reaches me, though there were no issues with previous emails. 2. No response to calls after payment. The business was prompt with picking/returning calls until the payment was made. After that, they stopped responding to calls and never returned calls, which severely affects their reliability. 3. No show for meet up. Although the service has not yet started as there has not been much snow yet, the business owner (Shayne Logan) committed to dropping by and meeting us several times, latest commitment being that they will drop by 9.30 am today (2 feb) with the hard copy of the invoice, but never honored any of the commitments to show up or send invoice so far. Somehow, something comes up at their end and they cancel the meeting at the last minute. Due to the above-said reasons (text /email evidence exists for all of them), I lost trust in this business and didn’t believe I can rely on it for snow removal during this peak winter. Hence, I cancelled the contract with Chris and Shayne's General Contracting and asked for a full refund of $300 I paid. They never acknowledged the email or the follow up emails or refunded my money till date.
