I hired Charlene/The Tipsy Bar for my wedding. I paid for two bartenders (her plus one) to cover cocktail hour (2 hours) and the reception (6 hours) with a half-price rate during dinner since they would not be serving during dinner but couldn’t actually leave Prior to the event, I made it clear that I had also hired an event coordinator who would be her point of contact I let Charlene know that I did not want to know if anything is wrong Before dinner was over she came to me with a problem She also informed me that we did not sufficiently stock the bar Two friends had offered to run to the store to buy more before we ran out She said no Throughout the reception, she came up to me several times to tell me we had run out of a specific liquor or would run out entirely Rather than solving the problem, she simply came to me to tell me This problem was never solved, but I was informed about it many times She then started closing the bar entirely, coming to me to let me know she would be closing the bar This caused some complaints from guests, which she came up to tell me about. She once said “I just wanted to tell you that your guests aren’t happy.” This was absolutely devastating to hear as a bride. I am unsure how long the bar was closed for, I know she re-opened and closed it at least twice. In addition to the team not working during this time, the event also ended early, so I paid for more hours than was worked. In addition to wasted money for the hourly wages, there were two half-kegs leftover from the event which they were unwilling to serve. More wasted money. I don’t really care about the $ my biggest issue was the constant badgering and inability to problem-solve, or let someone else problem-solve. At one point in the night, my husband asked her to stop approaching me because I was stressed She did not listen to him The reception was a failure My guests were unhappy, and I was stressed. Horrible experience on the most important day of my life.
