I purchased skylights and factory installed blinds from Velux. The blinds were installed by Velux but the blinds in one window were installed crookedly. This has been acknowledged by Velux after I sent a photo of the blinds. I contacted Velux to ask them to correct the deficiency with their factory installation. I thought it would be a pretty easy process to get them to send a technician to correct this issue. I was initially told that they would send a technician. I was subsequently told that I would need to sign an agreement that I may need to pay $200 for the technician visit and whether I was charged would be at the technician's discretion. I pointed out to the customer service representative that this doesn't make sense as the blinds were installed incorrectly by Velux. I was told that if I didn't sign the agreement, the only thing Velux could do was to provide support for me or the skylight installer to correct the blinds. The skylight installer did not have any role in installing the blinds so contacting them wouldn't make sense. Installing the blinds myself would defeat the purpose of getting factory installed blinds and I could potentially makes things ******** is very concerning that Velux appears to be unwilling to stand behind the quality control of the blinds installation process. Manufacturers are responsible for their products being assembled correctly. I'm struggling to understand how responsibility to rectify a problem created by Velux is abdicated to the purchaser.
