    This company was hired for a kitchen renovation. A contract was signed early July with a completion date for early August (Now approaching 6 months ago). The job was to remove cabinets and kitchen island from another home, refinish them and install at my home. The cabinets were removed from the prior location but since then, there have been delays after delays on their end. Many excuses why the job wasn’t progressing. Communication from the company has been inconsistent. Weeks between messages with vague communication about the cabinets when they do eventually text back. Read receipts on text messages indicate he is reading my messages and not responding. I have paid an initial instalment of $3300 at the time the contract was signed. No work has been done on the cabinets because we never got to select a colour. The company was supposed to drop off a paint pallet to choose our colour from and delayed and avoided that as well. I have asked for the name and contact information for the refinisher they are using so I can contact them directly myself and this request has been refused. I have asked repeatedly for the return of my initial instalment since he is in breach of the contract. When he responds he says things like “I am sorting this out. I’ll get back to you (insert day of the week). He never responds by that day. I follow up with phone calls and texts for an update, he does not respond. A couple of months ago I told him that I really needed this kitchen complete by Christmas. He said *** **** ** **** ** ********** * *** ******* *** ****** Promises like these have been ongoing since July. We have still not been able to select colour. My money and cabinets remain missing. Delays were due to the refinisher at first. After months of those delays I asked him to find a different refinisher to do the job. Delays continued due to that new refinisher according to him. He has now told me he is unwell to explain the lack of forward momentum on the project.

    An updated response from the company. 

    Since in the hands of BoldCoast, there was a mishandling of my property and the cabinets and kitchen island in question are missing and have not been located. I have asked for a prompt return of my initial instalment of $3300. There is textual confirmation that the company agrees to return my instalment “this week” without a specific date that I can count on. There was also no solution  provided in the event my cabinets cannot be located. I have asked for financial compensation for their replacement value as I am not interested in waiting another 6 months while they attempt at locate it just to come out empty handed, again. No response has been provided by them.
