    Business Response

    Dear BBB Representative,
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to address this matter. At Uptown Computers & Repairs ***** we value customer satisfaction and always strive to assist customers with their concerns. Below is the detailed account of the issue raised and our actions to resolve it.
    Background of the Shipment Issue:
On September 3, 2024, the customer utilized our *** shipping service to send a parcel to ******
The shipment was stopped by Chinese customs for "testing," which is a standard procedure conducted by the customs authority. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control or influence.
The shipment was not lost, but its processing and release were delayed due to customs internal protocols.
Actions Taken by Uptown Computers & Repairs Inc.:
Upon learning of the delay, we promptly responded to the customers initial review on ****** to clarify the situation and explain that we have no authority over customs procedures.
I personally communicated with the customer via phone to reiterate that the shipment was still in customs and offered assistance with the process. During this conversation, I explained that a refund or compensation would not be applicable since the parcel was neither lost nor mishandled by us or DHL.
After receiving further communication from the customer, including a demand for a full refund and replacement cost, I requested detailed information about the parcels contents and proof of purchase to initiate any potential claims.
Most recently, the customer emailed to inquire about processing a claim for the package, and I am in the process of responding to their request to provide clear guidance on the claim process.
    Current Status:
The shipment remains under the jurisdiction of Chinese customs, and we continue to assist the customer by providing support and information. We have maintained consistent communication via email, providing updates and clarifying steps as needed.
    Our Position:
While we empathize with the customers frustration, the delay caused by Chinese customs is not due to any error or negligence on our part. We have met all obligations as a shipping facilitator and are actively supporting the customer in navigating this unfortunate situation.
We respectfully request that this case be closed, as the circumstances are outside of our control and we are fulfilling our role to the best of our ability.
Please let us know if you require any additional details or documentation regarding this matter.
    Sincerely,
    [Your Full Name]
