I needed my computer looked at and called *********************** at Central Computer Technologies. His reviews all seemed great. When I went to drop off my computer he was acting very bizarre and frantic. He spoke in rapid fire sentences, ran in and out of the room and kept checking his watch. Then he presented me with a 3 page legal contract that was very convoluted (full of double talk and legalese), told me it was just the usual stuff and instructed me to just initial and sign. I expressed that I needed to read the contract and he replied that I could if I wanted to. The contract stated that:He was not responsible for any damages that he did to my computer (he did verbally state that he would make it right though). I stated that I wished the contract was written in clear laymans terms that were able to be understood by all and the expectations of both parties were be clear and concise. He replied that it was. He became upset and stated obviously not everyone had the same IQ. I did a mental eyebrow lift at that. That it was my responsibility to back up my data before hand as he was not responsible for any loss of data. I expressed that it would have been nice to know that and he said he could not be expected to tell me everything ahead of time. He became more agitated and began pacing back and forth. But it stands to reason, if I am responsible for backing up my own data prior to arriving (even though he told me he would be doing that), then I should know before I take my computer in.That I waived all my rights to take him to court for any reason and he had no liability for his work. That if I was unhappy with his service/work, I was prohibited from sharing events/thoughts online. I realized that this was why he had almost exclusively good reviews online. When I asked about this clause he said sharing any negative thoughts or feelings online was considered libel. I explained that it was only libel if it was untrue. He became agitated asked me to leave.
