Mr Rooter was contacted to unplug a blockage in an upstairs toilet. We were in Europe at the time when this happened so we had to have someone take time off work to meet the plumber. The plumber arrived and without doing anything gave us our options. The lowest was about $950, for what we weren’t sure. The next was a complete flush / vac of our system costing $3200. We told him over the phone that the charges appeared exorbitant and we would like to see an invoice or quote to simply clear the blockage. We sent our credit card information trusting that the cost would be fair. Mr Rooter unplugged the toilet and charged us the $950 price . I have since returned from holidays and have talked to Mr Rooter to see how they justify charging $950 for a standard scope and snake job which I was told took less than 20 minutes. I did some research and this type of job should cost between $100 and $300 unless complicated which could maybe increase the cost $100 or so, $200 max. The office told me that they don’t claim to be the cheapest in town but 3 times the cost is *******. The invoice was not itemized and the only product provided was a wax toilet seal and maybe some bolts. I talked to the tech for about a half an hour about the invoice amount and he wasn’t willing to re invoice or explain why the charge was so high. Both the tech and the office seemed to believe that they could charge amounts higher than market based on the quality of their work. I am not sure how the quality of work done unplugging a drain can vary

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We genuinely appreciate hearing from our customers, as it helps us continuously improve our services. We understand that pricing is an important factor when choosing a service provider. I want to assure you that our rates are carefully determined to reflect the complexity of the work we do and the high level of service we offer. In your situation, it became clear that it required more effort than a typical job of the same type, which is why our pricing is structured as it is. While it may seem that unclogging a drain is a straightforward task, the reality is that various factorssuch as the specific nature of the blockage or the condition and set up of the plumbingcan greatly influence the time and resources needed to resolve the issue effectively. If the same job took four times as long, it would have still cost the same, reflecting the thorough approach we take to ensure quality and reliability. Our team works diligently to uphold the highest standards in every project, and we believe that this commitment to quality ultimately benefits our customers. We want to deliver results that not only meet but exceed your expectations. If you have any further questions or concerns, or if theres anything specific we can address, please dont hesitate to reach out. Thank you once again for your feedback.

Mr. ********************** charged me (a senior) $525.00 to install a new toilet (which I supplied). The tech guy explained that I signed a contract. The only thing I signed was for a standard install -- it was not disclosed in advance that this would cost me $525.00 By the way, this whole unpleasant experience began with the tech guy trying to upsell me ridiculously high priced toilets which he tried to promote, rather than the much cheaper consumer products available at your local hard ware store. What a ripoff. Other plumbers in Lethbridge charge about $300.00 for a standard install.I feel Mr. ********************** owes me about $225.00

Mr. Rooter ********** charged an elderly couple (in their 80's) double the price that other ********** Plumbers charge. In my opinion this is predatory pricing. They have a toilet flange repaired for the whopping price of $675.00 plus tax... and that price included seniors bonus pricing. I checked around with a few other plumbing companies and they gave me an estimate of $326.00 to have a flange repaired. I called the company and gave them an opportunity to make it right and they said that they are sticking with their pricing (aside from offering an extra $50.00 off). Shame on them!!! ******* *** the elderly...
