Date: June 2nd. Business: PLS Security I called the locksmith to get a new set of key FOB ordered and programmed through this registered locksmith. I was given a quote of around $450. The locksmith asked for a payment of $200 as a deposit to pay for ordering the key through his supplier. The locksmith recieved the set of keys from his supplier and informed me that he was having trouble programming the keys. He ordered another set from another supplier and then told me that it still wasn’t working and he was going to continue to try one last time. After a month and a half, he called me and told me that he had “given up on the car” and couldn’t program the keys. He informed me he would not be returning my deposit for compensate for his lost time and “materials”. I was informed the deposit was to pay for the keys and never told it was a deposit for his work. Further, he didn’t inform me that he would keep the deposit if he continued to make trips to my vehicle to attempt to program the keys. Had I known the locksmith was going to keep the deposit since he couldn’t program the keys the first time and had to “keep trying”, I would’ve asked him to stop trying and gone to the dealership and to return my $200 deposit. I texted him repeatedly asking him questions to try to come to a solution so he did not have to keep making trips to my vehicle but he did not communicate effectively either and didnt inform me each time he made a trip to my vehicle. I would like my deposit to be returned as I personally have incurred a large amount of expense on cabs as he was programming keys to my only vehicle for over a month and a half without avail. And now I have to pay a different locksmith/ dealer to do the same job that he didn’t complete. The locksmith didn’t give me the unprogrammed of keys either, which he originally told me that the deposit was to pay for the keys which he had shipped to himself. Please help me in this matter
