Pattern of Complaints
Better Business Bureau is advising consumers to use caution when considering doing business with Essential Food Sales. BBB has received a pattern of consumer complaints alleging inferior quality of products, failure to provide refunds and poor customer service.
On November 7, 2022, BBB sent a letter to Essential Food Sales with its concerns. On November 21, 2022, the company responded to our letter. The company states they implemented a new return policy in January 2022. The new return policy can be found on their website or on flyers given to consumers. The company says they will address every complaint sent to them and will follow their policies in each instance.

In February 2025, Better BusinessBureau questioned Stampede Ranch & Farm's website, https://stampederanchandfarms.com/, which states:

“We made Stampede Ranch & Farms to ensure everyone could have access to the same high quality meat at the lowest market price!“
The BBB Code of Advertising states,“The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertisingrests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared tosubstantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication orbroadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiationpromptly to the advertising medium or BBB. Advertisements which areuntrue, misleading, deceptive, fraudulent, falsely disparaging ofcompetitors, or insincere offers to sell, shall not be used. Anadvertisement as a whole may be misleading by implication, althoughevery sentence separately considered may be literally true. Misrepresentation may result not only from direct statements, but byomitting or obscuring a material fact. In addition, according to theMissouri state statute 15 CSR 60-7.020 (1): “A seller shall not make arepresentation or statement of fact in an advertisement that is false orhas the capacity to mislead prospective purchasers.
In addition, BBB Code ofAdvertising states, “Despitean advertiser’s best efforts to ascertain competitive prices, therapidity with which prices fluctuate and the difficulty of determiningprices of all sellers at all times preclude an absolute knowledge of thetruth of unqualified underselling/lowest price claims. Advertisers canlessen the potential for consumer confusion by appropriatequalifications to any underselling/lowest price claim such as bystating, if truthful, that the advertiser will meet or beat a lowerprice.”
BBB requested the businesssubstantiate, modify, or discontinue, the claims made on its website. The company has not responded to BBB’s requests and nomodifications have been made to the website.
