BBB of North Alabama: 2025 Decatur Shred Day

Better Business Bureau of North Alabama has partnered with Family Security Credit Union to host Decatur Shred Day on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at BComing.Church, 607 14th St. SE, Decatur, AL 35601.  

This event will give area residents the opportunity to help protect their identities and the environment in a quick and easy drive-thru set up.

Regional Vice President, Tricia Pruitt, states, “For the 17th year, we are proud to invite the residents of Morgan County and surrounding areas to our annual Decatur Shred Day, where you can safely dispose of sensitive documents, electronics, and unwanted medications.”

The following *FREE services will be available on site:

-	Document Shredding: There is a limit of three kitchen-size bags or three file storage boxes per vehicle. Only paper documents will be accepted. Plastic, metal, and binders must be removed. Shredding will be accepted until the shred trucks reach full capacity.

-	*Electronic Recycling: Items must be less than 40lbs. There is a $10 fee for each plasma and flat screen TV. Large-back TVs, CRT monitors and appliances will not be accepted.  

-	Drug Take Back: Morgan County Sheriff's Office will be collecting prescription, over-the-counter, and veterinarian medications. Needles and liquids will not be accepted.

Donations of cleaning supplies, hygiene items, household items, and gift cards will be accepted to support Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries.

This year’s event sponsors are Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Incorporated®, Rho Chi Omega Chapter, Cook’s Pest Control, Indorama Ventures, Morgan County Sherrif’s Office, and Quest Prevention Services.
